Whale and dolphins watching - Really good trip. Led by a marine biologist, with the whales and dolphins welfare being paramount. Waterproof jackets were provided. Highly recommend

A must do on Sao Miguel - We did the whale watching and island bout tour on the 15th of May, noon. Our guide was amazing! She explained what kind of animals we could see on the water and was very determined to show us whales. In the first two hours of the trip, we „only“ saw dolphins but as previously mentioned she was very determined and we ended up seeing a mama sperm whale with two calves. Amazing experience!

Whales ahoy! - Great trip and experience! Would recommend to anyone, we saw 2 blue whales and 2 sperm whales. One of the blue whales went under the boat. Couldn’t ask for more

Thank you ! - Clear explainations both before taking the boat and during the excursion ! We had the chance to see 4 cachalotes + 1 group of commun dolphins, amazing experience. I appreciated that our guide brought us as close as possible to the animals, but always keeping some distance, putting the well-being of the animals as 1st priority

Great experience - The whale watching tour was very exciting. We encountered a lot of sperm whales, including a mother with a baby. We also saw dolphins that were swiming alongside the boat and near the islet a sea turtle

A great whale watching experience. A must do! - Great whale watching experience. Having been on while watches in the US New England, this experience exceeded my expectations. Although we didn’t see any really “spectacular” views of whales, we got to see many whales as they naturally are, swimming and plying. Some of the whales were native to the region, while others were migrating to the colder waters for feeding season. We also saw some colorful native dolphins. One of the best things of the trip was the crew and the specially designed boats for whale watching, which insured a good view for everyone on the boat. A top thing to do if you are on São Miguel.

Spectacular tour with Terra Azul - Great tour with good explanation, great views. We saw the blue whale, some dolphins. It was reall great. The sea was still a bit bumpy due to the windy weather. But at the end we all enjoyed it very much.

Outstanding. - This company focuses on education and provides the ultimate wildlife experience. All guides have extensive and detailed knowledge and provide easy to understand facts about the local ecosystem, the species and their particularities. All this in the context of a respectful encounter with each cetacean species. In addition, this company supports a number of in situ research projects that may provide valuable data on the feeding habits of sperm whales, among others. We booked a total of four tours with Terra Azul and were able to see sei whales, humpback whales, sperm whales, common dolphins, flying fish, a loggerhead turtle and many other vertebrate species. Dear Terra Azul team, keep up the good work, we had great experiences with you!
