The most famous historical feature of Avanos, which is still relevant and very visible today, is its production of earthenware pottery. The ceramic trade in this district and its countless pottery factories date right back to the Hittites, and the ceramic clay from the red silt of the Kızılırmak has always been used. Watch the potters at work using the kick wheel, using the technique that has never changed over its generations. It is a popular destination because of its attractive old town with cobbled streets, and superb views over the river.

Suggested tour for a bit of Capppadocian experience - Very good guide, professional and accurate in explication. Very good English.
Also in matter of geological description

Very disappointed - 1. The agent said that he will arrive at 8:45am for another 45€ to pickup and drop us from our hotel cause it was situated in Nevsehir. Ok.
2. The driver arrived at 9:20am so we wasted our time to wait the driver and wake up too early morning
3. To compare with other tours this was the horrible one because of change the itinerary in the last day (even if we choose this special tour for their itinerary from this site) there was different one with simple locations saws every day.
4. We had a big mistake to choose this tour cause expected to visit Cappadocia but visited carpets and jewelries.
5. Danger method of driving in uncomfortable vehicle
6. We waste our time and money. Not recommend.
