  • 5 East Ave - This is the best way to experience the bats hands down. The journey on the 3-6 person giant paddle board starts with epic downtown views during the day, continues with the sunset, then observing the 1.5 million bats fly out and ends the night paddling back after dark in the city glow.

June update: The sunset is directly aligned with the river at this time of the year!

Book Now for July 4th Fireworks. Its the best night of the year hands down.

Booking this tour for the sunset and bats puts you along side Austin’s #1 experience “kayaking w/ the bats” only you’re on a board! Its the same trip just a different vessel.

Don’t let the word “Paddleboard” fool you. This is 15 feet long and 4.5 feet wide. It is ultra stable. You will not get wet unless you choose to go for a swim. You can sit down, stand up, or even lay down. It’s impossible to fall into the water on accident.

The mega paddle boards make for an excellent family or group option cause you get to stay together and share the experience.

As a bonus, as soon as you book, my auto-reply welcome message has my personal guidebook to Austin that can help you plan the rest of your Austin vacation!

Additional Information

The giant paddleboard offers various advantages over a kayak. It allows you to remain with your friends or family on a single board, enjoying a communal experience. It offers you the option to stay fully dry, which eliminates the need for a trip back to your accommodation before and after. This undoubtedly results in significant time and money savings. The flexibility to stand, sit, or lie down contributes to a much more enjoyable journey. The boards, with no weight restrictions and supreme stability, often confound the fears linked with the term ‘paddle board’. Dispel any excuse you might have for not trying one, and you’ll find the opposite to be truer. For instance, the belief ‘I don’t want to get wet.’ - contrary to this, you’ll likely get wet on a kayak, but the giant paddle board will keep you dry. This is accurate in almost every given circumstance.

Awesome time - This was an amazing experience! It was really fun to watch the bats from the water and the guide did a great job of telling us about the bats and getting us into a great spot to watch the bats leave their roost. We watched the bats the following night from the road (on the bridge) and it was a much more enjoyable experience watching it from the water. Our guide told us that the bats were there February through December.

Top hint to do in Austin! - Of all the things we did in Austin, this was by far my favorite. Aaron and his colleagues were absolutely great. The tour was informative, and actually very fascinating, and the Austin skyline from on the water just cannot be beat my highest endorsement!

Fun time on the big board! - Hopped on this tour last minute when I saw an opening. Had a great time with the people I rode with who were also in town. It's like a big fun road trip on the river!
