A good option if you want to visit Ausangate 7 lakes cheaply - Better to go on dry season because with the sun lakes would look better, I did it in rainy season, it was cloudy and rained a lot, no regrets though, still beautiful. Hike is pretty easy, despite the high altitude. There are hot springs, which were wonderful after the hike and all the rain. And in the evening clouds cleared away and we saw snowy mountain while chilling in hot springs and that was something else. Meals were not anything fancy, but for me it was okay, you get what you pay. Grab some snacks, you could say you doing trail on your own pace, you can go with a guide and ask him questions or you can go forward if you are faster, is it quite clear where is trail.
