A Journey to the Canopy

As a passionate advocate for sustainable travel, I often find myself drawn to experiences that allow me to connect with nature while promoting eco-friendly tourism. My recent adventure on Waiheke Island, just a short ferry ride from Auckland, was no exception. The island’s lush landscapes and commitment to conservation made it the perfect destination for an exhilarating zipline adventure.

The anticipation built as I joined a group of fellow adventurers, including the delightful Murupara Maidens, a group of friends who have been exploring together for decades. The zipline experience began with a safety briefing, where our guides, Zeno and Sam, explained the importance of respecting the natural environment while enjoying the thrill of soaring above the treetops. Our adventure concluded with a mini-tour of the island, where we were treated to a cup of tea and entertained by our driver on the way back to Oneroa.
