Experience the sheer joy of riding a Segway as you ‘glide’ effortlessly to the summit of Mt.Victoria the highest volcanic cone on Auckland’s North Shore. Your tour guide will tell you the secrets of the mountain and the iconic mushrooms as you enjoy the spectacular close up 360 degree views of Auckland City and the Hauraki Gulf. You’ll have ridden through the back street of the village to admire the beautifully restored Victorian Villas, past beaches and through parks on your way to the mountain. With a maximum of 6 people per tour your guide will spend one to one time with you teaching you to ride a Segway and you’ll have plenty of time to practice before you leave on the tour. Every day of the week you have 3 scheduled times to choose from in the Summer and 2 scheduled times in the Winter months. Being a small historic seaside village with stunning views, a quiet charming atmosphere and lots of open spaces it’s one of the best locations anywhere in the world for a Segway Tour.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Minimum age is 10 years on Family Fun Ride and A Taste of Segway.
- Minimum age is 13 years for Mt. Victoria Magic and Historic North Head Tours.
- A maximum of 6 people per tour booking.
- Not recommended for pregnant women.
- A small amount of walking is involved on the North Head Tour.
- Not recommended for people who are not agile enough to climb stairs unaided.
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately.
- If canceled due to extreme weather conditions that make it unsafe to ride a Segway, you will be given the option of an alternative date or refund Less administration fee.
- All participants weights MUST be between 35kgs - 120kgs (75lbs - 265lbs)

Our Office is located inside the Devonport Ferry Terminal at the end of the terminal where all the ferries come and go to Auckland City. The Officeis sometimes in darkness but we do still operate from there.

Great tour of North Auckland and Mt Victoria. Highly recommend. - Pauline was a great guide and gave us a fabulous tour of the North Auckland area and Mt Victoria. The Segways were in good condition and everything went as planned.

Friendly and Fun! - Pauline was so friendly and fun and made sure everyone was comfortable on their Segways before we began our tour. During the tour, we rode along the coastline of Devonport, then through neighborhoods and up to the peak of Mt. Victoria. Pauline shared the history and pointed out interesting things of the area around us as we went along. Once at the top of Mt. Victoria, we had ample time to enjoy the spectacular view, including the Auckland skyline, and to take photos. Thank you, Pauline!

Wonderful way to see Devonport - Segways are a kick to ride. At 66 years old, I had no trouble learning to ride and our guide was very knowledgeable and safe. She had to practice for a bit on uneven ground knowing that our path would take us on grassy and bumpy terrain. At first I was a bit intimidated even though I've ridden one many years before, but with the practice, I felt confident. Our guide was also the owner and she was very friendly and talked with passion about her home town. We got to chatting so much that we had to hurry to get back to catch our ferry back to Auckland to catch our cruise ship. I would recommend this experience for teenagers and above and certainly for seniors.

A “must do” in Auckland - We had a wonderful afternoon with Pauline, owner of this company. She expertly guided us through all sections of Devonport, occasionally stopping to explain the architecture and history of the area she clearly loves. We ascended Mt Victoria and viewed this beautiful city from the top. This was a relaxing and educational experience.

Flying around Devonport NZ - Pauline was an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, approachable and friendly guide. She knows her stuff and she made sure that the tour was done as safely as possible. As I was the only participant, I basically ended up with a privately guided tour around Devonport and up to Mt Victoria that ended up running for an additional 1/2hr. I definitely didn’t mind running a little late boarding the cruise ship. Definitely plan on booking the North Head tour when I’m next in Auckland. Also plan on telling family and friends about Magic Broomstick Segway Tours and Pauline (owner & tour guide). So pleased that I found this tour and that the hours of the tours suited the timeframes that I had.

Great view and experience - I have loved to join Segway tours whenever I travel, because it saves walking and it gives me an introduction to the city from the guide. This guided Segway tour is awesome, because the guide has shown us around Devonport with the Segway, with historical/ world war things to see. The view from Mt Victoria was great, it's worth the walk uphill but it's better with Segway.

Great way to see and learn about Devonport - Such a fun activity. It rained on our tour but the owner still made it such fun. Despite the rain, it was still one of our favorite activities! Highly recommend! It’s a nice way to see Devonport and the top of Mt Victoria with its amazing views. We hadn’t used Segways before but training is provided and it’s easy to learn.

Great little excursion! - What a fabulous little excursion to a very pretty destination. Devonport is picturesque and Pauline our Segway tour guide shared lots of stories about the history of the area. The Segway ride was fun and the ride to the top of mt Victoria was spectacular. Highly recommend!
