Set out on an exploration of the distant Hauraki Gulf on board the 41-foot catamaran, Pacific Star, offering daily sailings from Waiheke Island.
You get exclusive access to the yacht complete with two staff members (a captain and a host).
A stop at an island free from pests for a guided stroll is included, in addition, there will be chances for swimming, snorkelling, and stand-up paddleboarding.
Our guide will acquaint you with the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park, its islands, and its inhabitants. Spot a variety of sea birds and potentially catch sight of dolphins, and even whales, as we sail effortlessly with the wind.
This is the sole day sailing trip available in the outer gulf that departs from Waiheke Island.
If you wish to steer the yacht or help adjust the sails, Captain Bruce will be happy to instruct you.
Your agenda will rely on wind course and weather conditions for an optimal and pleasant journey.

Your tour begins and ends on Waiheke Island. We do not do hotel pickups. If you are travelling from Auckland on the 9am ferry, your guide from Terra & Tide will be holding a sign and standing on your left as you leave the ferry.

The best day out ! - The best boat trip that we have ever done ! Have done it twice now with family and friends. Gabrielle and Bruce looked after us exceptionally well with delicious food platters, sumptuous bbq (lamb !!), excellent seamanship, etc. Thoroughly recommended to anyone thinking of a special day on the water !!

Relax and meet a whole new world of birding:) - We boarded the catamaran the same day that we arrived in New Zealand from the US. It was a perfect way to start our vacation.
Stopping at remote islands, we listened to and identified the birds we would hear throughout the rest of our trip. It was also a sweet introduction to some of the local flora.
We all enjoyed the best charcuterie tray in New Zealand with our lovely host and hostess. Such a pleasure!

Fantastic family cruise around the Hauraki gulf - Fantastic time cruising around with Terra and Tide, on the Pacific Star catamaran, with our family.
The boat was great: clean, safe, spacious, all the amenities. The crew were even better: super friendly, informative, courteous, professional, and just fun!
Lots of great stories about locals, the islands, the fisheries, restoration, real estate, and more. Had a fantastic time, would highly recommend to all!
Lastly: they did a great job accommodating our kids, with safety equipment, your adjustments, snacks, and more. Thank you!

Charter from Waiheke Island - Quick communicators, seamless day, easygoing, and great lunch - can't ask for much more! They even helped us prepare some uni from sea urchins we caught while snorkeling / paddle boarding.

Saw orcas on the motor down. Lay , swam, dived and sun-baked with a few beers over lunch. Great relaxing sail home. - Ability to snorkel, swim, snack , sun-bake at will for 4 hrs in the bay with the luxury deck and kitchen right there in the middle of the water.

Beyond our wildest expectations - Gabrielle and Bruce hosted our boisterous team of ten with finesse and grace. Bruce (mostly) managed the yacht while Gabrielle attended to us. Aside from swimming, sailing, stand up paddleboarding and singing, we drank a lot of exceptionally good champagne, complemented by their beautiful cuisine. Nothing was too much trouble. We had such an enjoyable time and thoroughly recommend Terra and Tide. We'll be booking again next year for sure.

Cruising on the Hauraki Gulf - Bruce and Gabrielle hosted our group of friends on the Hauraki Gulf for the America’s Cup. It was a fabulous experience right from the start - they were warm and welcoming and got us all settled in before we got underway. They know great spots to anchor up and head for a swim or a SUP before putting on an amazing lunch that covered all our dietary requirements. To top it off, getting to watch the Cup race with Bruce and Gabrielle helping us understand what’s going on was a bonus. The boat is great - lots of spaces to enjoy the cruise, including up on the top deck, as well as space down below to stretch out and snooze. We will be back for more!
