Great - Great place filled with lots to see, easy and lots of parking, just straight into a park right in the parking building at the museum, got a bit lost sometimes and the place is huge, but worth being lost

A Must-Visit for Culture Stunning Views - The building itself is stunning, and the views over the city and harbour from the front steps are worth the visit alone.
If you have time, the live Māori cultural performance absolutely worth seeing it. The museum is family-friendly, with interactive areas for kids, and there’s a café and gift shop on site. Staff were helpful and welcoming, and everything was well maintained and easy to navigate.

Great location, even better staff and exhibitions - Been here a few times over the decade and its always great the way they express their exhibitions. Since its in one of the largest parks in AKL called the Auckland Domain and literally on the crater of an extinct volcano, its a serene location within the hustle and bustle of the CBD.

Awesome - Wow, what a place this is.
We spent hours in the museum, so much to see and do and definitely too much to include in this review.
If you like your history and want to understand what New Zealand is all about, then this is the place for you.
It’s on the bus route (hop on, hop off) so easily accessible.
You won’t be disappointed.

Watch out for the work! - Great visit, even if many rooms were closed. Ask before coming to the museum so you won't be disappointed.

Nice museum, not so familiar staff - Nice to be able to skip the line, but the line is actually not very long and the staff is a bit unfamiliar with the process of redeeming the tickets. The museum is good, with lots of references and artifacts related to Maori culture. Serve as a good introduction for someone to start delving into the very local part of New Zealand.

Good museum - Interesting Museum with a variety of topics. The Volcanic section was particularly good with a simulation of an eruption in Auckland very dramatic!

Good museum - Good museum... when we tried to exchange our receipt for museum tickets, they had no record of our purchase... otherwise, a good visit

It's a lovely looking... - It's a lovely looking museum. Well laid out. Unfortunately most of the spaces we really wanted to see were closed for maintenance. We found some spaces frustrating because there was little to no information about some artefacts in the child area, and also no information about some artefacts unless you used a computer. This meant you had to wait to read about things at once rather than move along amongst others. Staff were very friendly.
