Happily Surprised by 5 star Private Tour! - What a great tour! Ended up being a private tour - just my family of 3. Alex was a fabulous guide. So knowledgeable about everything - history, politics, languages, flora and fauna, places to shop - and personable as well. He took us by taxi to the top of Mt. Lycabettus where we enjoyed amazing views, then we walked down the hill and all throughout town, covering buildings from ancient times to the 18-1900s (Parliament, the Academies, etc). We saw the changing of the guard which was fascinating. And he even stayed with us a little extra time to make sure we saw the turtles in the National Gardens, which I had specifically requested seeing. He was super flexible about tailoring the tour to our needs. We enjoy walking so this was a great tour for us - about 4 miles. Additionally, the company communicated well via Viator.

Great view & great exercise option - Amazing view. We were there for sunset and was crowded, as expected. Was not easy to find the fanicular car. A nice workout to get to the base of the hill. Worth the effort & a to do while visiting Athens

Fantatsic views of the city from its highest vantage point. - It's a steep walk up but well worth the effort for the views at the top. The only place where you can see the whole city laid out before you all the way to the sea.

Nice walk around the top of the mountain and worth visiting for the amazing views. - Our guide meet us in time at the location provided. The only negative was that we did not walk up the mountain which we were looking forward to doing. Our guide had a taxi take us up mostly to the top and we then walked the rest of the way which was very easy and short. Our guide was very nice and provided us with a lot of history as we look around the amazing view. We then walked down the mountain which was nice as there is a very well kept pathway down. We were then taken around several areas in Athens which was nice as we would not likely have walked to these areas on our own. Can do on your own but you would not get the extra history.

Lycabettus and clouds - Beautiful view of the city, good restaurant, tiring climb up to the funicular but as soon as you reach the top together with the church you can enjoy a beautiful panorama. Recommended to go there in the evening.

Not as cool as described - I'd like to start by saying that as a minorities in the US my partner and I attempt to avoid profiling folks based on looks but that is often hard when you are in a foreign country about to meet a stranger for a private tour. UAC needs to set up some minimum standards of presentation because the guide we met looked hunger over and his UAC bag looked so old and almost no legit. His first recommendation was to NOT walk to the base of Mt. Lycabettus and instead that he would pay for a taxi to the base. He was then annoyed when we tried to say we wanted to walk it all. He also seemed offended when we asked for his tour guide badge. It all seemed like a scam. The storytelling was NOT as exciting as described and the certainly did not visit any secret restaurants in the market. At one point the guide started smoking during our walk. It was a mess. We had had a walking tour 2 days before in Athens so this was certainly a let down compared to the professionalism we had experienced earlier. We have done many walking tours in Latin American, Europe and Asia and this certainly was not what we expected and did not match the description. A very big let down on our 2nd to last day in Athens.

Not worth it - Not worth it. The funicular is very expensive for what you can do on the way up. The top is almost entirely occupied by a bar/restaurant. You can't stay there for more than 10 minutes because there is almost no room to move. The views from Filopapo Hill are much better.
