A great half day trip! - A great experience. We were picked up on time at our hotel. The van was very comfortable and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Greek history. Only criticism was stopping for dinner and possible swim. Glad we decided to eat first. Was no time to swim and we had to rush dinner. There were three groups from the tour at the Resturant (we were the only customers). Food was great. However, there was no hurry to deliver our food. After waiting for more than 30 minutes, I had to notify the server that the three groups in the Resturant were all part of the tour group and we were on a deadline. Still, we only had 15 minutes to eat our entree and settle our bill. Resturant card machine would not work so glad we had cash. Resturant comments had nothing to do with tour company - just a note to let resturant know up front of your time constraint (which was 75 minutes for us). Sights at Poseidon were beautiful. Large crowd at the site, yet everyone seemed to enjoy the beautiful sunset. I highly recommend the tour.

Blend of history and relaxation - This tour was a great mix of history, sightseeing, and relaxation. The beach stop was beautiful and a great place to swim. (I even saw a few fish!) The beach bar had good food and drinks available for a casual dinner as well. The Temple of Poseidon itself was interesting and a great place to watch the sunset. Just don’t be THOSE tourists—follow the signs asking you not to stand on the marble in order to preserve it for the future. The time spent in the minibus was also fun; our guide provided interesting points of history and asked fun-fact questions about Greek mythology and history. I would certainly recommend this tour.

Beautiful sunset trip against the Temple of Poseidon - Excellent trip, especially the sunset views, in today’s busy times, always a luxury to sit and watch the sunset. The temple of Poseidon is also worth visiting. Special thanks to our tour guide Athena & Salvador.

It was good. Anna had to... - It was good. Anna had to keep remembering to talk into the microphone cause when she turned her head we couldn’t hear her cause of the AC running. Honestly expected prettier/nicer beach at the swim stop. (I know not in your control. We Liked her stories and recommendations.

Good but can be improved - Ok but a little disappointing; especially an unnecessary 90 minute stop at a very ordinary beach where you’re just left to your own devices. Of course, no one wanted to swim or get wet as we were heading to the main stop after so this bit is quite poorly thought out. Cape Poseidon itself is lovely and a great spot, but just be mindful of the rather pointless beach stop. Note, you do need to sort your own tickets at Cape Poseidon and you will be left on your own to explore, there is no guided element.

Disappointing experience overall - Unfortunately, we were disappointed with this tour. It started off well with the hotel pick-up, and we liked the air-conditioned minibus. The first stop, Lake Vouliagmeni, was nice but it’s literally just a 5-minute photo op, so bear that in mind. As we approached the beach, our second stop, the guide ran through some fairly basic Greek history that amounted to shouting out the roles/domains of the Greek gods and goddesses, to which we were to respond with the names. It all felt a little silly and juvenile. Upon reaching the beach, we were immediately disappointed. Greece is obviously a beautiful country with many amazing beaches, and while this one was ‘fine’, it felt very mediocre in terms of the facilities and overall feel. We had over an hour there, which was way too long. And while there was no obligation to eat, we were pretty bored and reluctantly ordered some disappointing food. The guide sat at a separate table with her friends throughout, which felt a little strange. On we went to the main stop of the day, the Temple of Poseidon. Before we reached the site, we stopped by the side of the road where the guide showed us some laminated pictures of different column types etc. It felt like we could have just skipped this part and spent more time at the temple itself, especially given the €20 entrance fee per person. Upon arrival at the temple, we were left to our own devices. We were advised to use the toilet facilities straightaway if needed, as they apparently get very busy post-sunset. Unfortunately there was only one functioning toilet for the ladies, which meant a long wait and an unpleasant experience dodging overflowing water. Considering the €20 entrance fee, there needs to be better facilities. This just wasn’t good enough. There was also a huge queue for the bar/restaurant. Obviously this is beyond the tour company’s control, but they should be liaising with whoever runs the temple and passing on this feedback. Once we were done with the sunset (which was great - it’s a sunset in Greece), we drove back to Athens in silence. All in all, it felt like a glorified taxi service rather than a tour. While she was a pleasant enough woman, the guide did seem quite inexperienced and not particularly passionate. Compared to other tours we’ve done in various countries, this one just didn’t seem worth the price point and we would not recommend it.
