Give Urban Athens Collective a chance and you might get more than you bargained for! - I was fortunate to be the only client on tour, so Dionysus/Dennis agreed we could wander into places I had not been yet and so we did. My extended conversations with him were a highlight of my Greek trip. I peppered him with questions.... Well educated about the historical sights we were seeing, both ancient and modern, Dennis gave me historical context, shared his views about culture and politics and gave me a sense of what it is like to be a Greek in this modern world. I appreciated him greatly, as well as the walk around what I considered to be greater hidden gems, the Monasteraki and Psiri neighborhoods, which I might not have gotten to on my own, or with such insight into what makes those neighborhoods unique.

Like a Local - The person who guided me (Eleni) was beyond amazing! She accommodated the schedule due to a problem with subway (fires), and I was stuck at the airport, trying to check-in at the hostel and show up for the tour! Best part: I didn’t ask! She offered as soon as she heard I would not make on time! Besides that, she took me to places where I barely saw a tourist, but I found many hidden gems (indeed), such as graffiti, and she also has a lot of knowledge about the places (she will share everything with you)! Eleni also pointed out places to eat and what to order!
I had a great time and I recommend this tour and her!

Walking Tour of Athens - Though we were unable to take the six hour walking tour because of our cruise time restraints, Viator took the time to put a three hour tour together, and it was FABULOUS! Our tour guide Elena was very knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to answer our questions with respect to each of our stops (changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Queen's Garden, Olympic Stadium, Zeus Temple, Acropolis) and life in Athens. She knew so much about it's history!! She was conscientious of our five year old granddaughter and made it fun for her as well. We were able to stop at a lovely cafe/restaurant along the way in the most beautiful and quaint setting, the food was phenomenal!! I apologize but I forgot to ask Elena for the translation of the name. Elena (a beautiful person with a beautiful soul) inspired us to return to Athens and we will on our 40th anniversary, just three years away! Thank you again Elena and Viator!!

Very detailed tour with lots of facts to digest. - We enjoyed seeing the Plaka area and visiting the cute little red-roofed houses. It was a very detailed trip which we had to cut short as we needed to meet our transfer deadline.
