- Theater of Dionysus - The Theatre of Dionysus, or Theatre of Dionysos, is an ancient Greek theatre in Athens. Situated on the Acropolis hill’s south slope, it was originally part of the sanctuary of Dionysus Eleuthereus (Dionysus the Liberator). The first orchestra terrace was built around the mid- to late-sixth century BC, hosting the City Dionysia. The theatre reached its peak in the fourth century BC under Lycurgus, accommodating up to 25,000 spectators.
- Herod Atticus Odeon - The Odeon of Herodes Atticus, also known as Herodeion or Herodion, is a stone Roman theatre on the Acropolis’s southwest slope in Athens, Greece. Completed in AD 161 and renovated in 1950, the audience stands and orchestra (stage) were restored with Pentelic marble. Since then, it has been the main venue for the Athens Festival, running from May to October each year, featuring acclaimed Greek and international performances. Built by Herodes Atticus in memory of his Roman wife, Aspasia.
