Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou - Your private full-day tour of Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou and Ouarzazate will start early in the morning ( 07h30 AM ) with a pick up from your hotel or riad.
Drive east of Marrakech crossing the windy high Atlas Mountains and Tizi Ntichka pass. Numerous stops will be made along the way to enjoy the views, take photos, stretch your legs or drink a cup of coffee. Visit Ait Benhaddou village (where Star Wars were filmed). UNESCO has classified the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou is one of the world’s cultural treasures. It is studded with crenelated towers and its buildings decorated with geometrical motifs that are considered as one of the most beautiful villages in Morocco.
A program of restoration work is currently underway to encourage the population of the village, which is at present inhabited just by five families. - Musee Theatre Memoire de Ouarzazate - From here, continue to Ouarzazate, which marks the beginning of the Sahara desert. Visit the cinema museum in Ouarzazat.
- Telouet - The Telouet Kasbah stands on the old caravan route towards the Sahara, between Ait Ben Haddou and Marrakesh. It is somehow an easily missed historical site, with visitors often passing by unaware as they leave Morocco’s world-famous UNESCO world heritage site for the imperial city of Marrakech.
- High Atlas Mountains - After some time at leisure for a cup of mint tea or coffee, drive back to Marrakech later in the afternoon while crossing the High Atlas Mountains.

A very long trip along a winding... - <p>A very long trip along a winding mountain pass in an uncomfortable minibus with minimal suspension! The driver dropped us away from the main bridge entering Ait Ben Haddou to be met by a guide whose sole intent seemed to be to shepherd us via friends/relatives/shops of no interest to us. His knowledge of the site seemed limited to various films who used it as a location with little history or context about the site itself. After his tour you are encouraged to use his favourite restaurant. My advice, don't bother with a guide or the rip off restaurant, do your homework before you go, it will pay dividends. If you can afford it take the trip in a Land Cruiser......</p>
