Cairo-Aswan-High Dam Philae Temple & Embarkation
Aswan High Dam - Guests will be picked up from their Cairo hotel and transferred to the airport for a flight to Aswan. Upon arrival at Aswan Airport, a knowledgeable Egyptologist guide will warmly welcome them and accompany them in a private air-conditioned vehicle. The day begins with a visit to the High Dam, an impressive feat of modern engineering constructed in the 1960s to manage the Nile’s floodwaters and produce electricity. Visitors can enjoy sweeping views over Lake Nasser while learning about its national significance.
Temple of Philae - Following this, a brief boat ride will take visitors to Philae Temple, elegantly situated on an island in the Nile. This well-preserved temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was meticulously relocated stone by stone by UNESCO to save it from flooding. Guests can explore its courtyards, columns, and mythical carvings.
After visiting the temple, there is an option to visit a Nubian Village, where guests can meet local families, appreciate vibrant architecture, and discover the unique Nubian culture. (This experience is optional and can be arranged with the guide.)
Abu Simbel at Sunrise – Kom Ombo – Sailing
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - The day starts with an early morning journey to Abu Simbel, one of Egypt’s most breathtaking ancient sites. Traveling by private air-conditioned vehicle through the desert, guests will reach the magnificent rock-cut temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari, carved into the mountainside over 3,000 years ago. They can admire the colossal seated statues and the intricate interior reliefs while the guide shares the incredible story of their relocation by UNESCO to protect them from flooding.
Returning to the cruise in Aswan, guests can enjoy a late breakfast on board as the ship sails north toward Kom Ombo.
Temple of Kom Ombo - In the afternoon, guests will disembark to explore the Temple of Kom Ombo, a unique double temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed Horus the Elder. The site features perfectly symmetrical halls and sanctuaries for both gods, along with a nearby Crocodile Museum housing mummified crocodiles from ancient times.
Edfu Temple by Horse Carriage – Sail to Luxor
Temple of Horus - In the early morning, guests will disembark in Edfu and take a traditional horse-drawn carriage (hantour) through the town to reach the impressive Temple of Horus. This is one of the best-preserved temples in all of Egypt, with massive pylons, detailed reliefs, and towering columns. The guide will explain the symbolic battle scenes between Horus and Seth depicted on the walls.
Guests will return to the cruise and enjoy breakfast on board as they sail toward Luxor, passing scenic views of the Nile and its lush green banks.
Luxor Temple - Upon arrival in Luxor, guests will visit the majestic Luxor Temple, beautifully illuminated in the evening atmosphere. The temple is a striking example of ancient grandeur, originally built by Amenhotep III and expanded by Ramses II. Visitors can admire the colossal statues, the avenue of sphinxes, and learn how this temple was connected to Karnak in ancient ceremonial processions.
Disembarkation, Balloon Ride, West Bank & Karnak Tour
LUXOR HOT AIR BALLOON RIDES - The final day begins with an early checkout from the cruise and a light refreshment before embarking on an unforgettable experience: a hot-air balloon ride at sunrise. Guests will float peacefully above the Nile’s West Bank, witnessing panoramic views of ancient temples, green fields, and mountain landscapes — a magical way to conclude the journey.
Colossi of Memnon - After landing, the sightseeing continues on land with a stop at the Colossi of Memnon — two massive seated statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have stood guarding the Theban necropolis for over 3,000 years. Guests can take photos and listen to their fascinating legends from the guide.
Valley of the Kings - The tour continues to the world-famous Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs of the New Kingdom, including Tutankhamun, were laid to rest in elaborately decorated tombs. Guests can explore three tombs included in the ticket, with an option to enter King Tut’s tomb for an additional fee.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Next, guests will visit the spectacular Temple of Hatshepsut, built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. They will learn about Egypt’s most powerful female pharaoh and marvel at the temple’s symmetry, terraces, and historical inscriptions.
Luxor Market - In the afternoon, guests will explore the majestic Karnak Temple Complex, one of the largest religious structures ever built. They can walk through the Hypostyle Hall with 134 giant columns, see ancient obelisks, and stand in awe of the Sacred Lake and the avenue of sphinxes.
Luxor - At the end of the tour, guests will be transferred to Luxor Airport for their return flight to Cairo. The guide will assist with all airport arrangements to ensure a smooth journey.
