Unfinished Obelisk - optional The Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan, Egypt, stands as a testament to ancient Egyptian craftsmanship and ambition. This colossal monument, carved from the bedrock of the quarry, was intended to be one of the largest obelisks ever constructed, reaching a height of approximately 137 feet (42 meters) and weighing an estimated 1,200 tons.
However, the project was abruptly halted due to a flaw discovered in the granite, causing a large crack to form along one side of the obelisk. As a result, the massive stone was left unfinished, abandoned in the quarry where it still lies today.
