Our adventure begins as we head in direction of the Asterousia Mountains. Our journey isn’t over until we reach the entrance of the Eligia gorge situated in Kapetaniana’s vicinity. There, we undertake a safety briefing to familiarize you with your equipment and essential safety protocols for securely navigating the gorge and the Via Ferrata. Post briefing, we venture into the gorge. A brief hike later, where you can witness the geological variety of the gorge, we arrive at the start point of the Via Ferrata. During the entirety of the hike and the ascent through the gorge and Via Ferrata, the opportunity to marvel at the untamed beauty of Crete is immense, with the magnificent Kofinas peak – the highest point of Asterousia – enriching the journey till the end. Progressing from Mytiki, we follow a circular climbing path leading us to the end of Via Ferrata. Subsequently, we can drop by Kapetaniana, a quaint village in the vicinity.
