Shanga & Shanga Foundation - Located in Arusha, Tanzania, the Shanga Shanga Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities. They provide job opportunities and skill-building programs, enabling these individuals to create handcrafted goods and crafts. The Tanzanite Experience - Located at India St. Blue Plaza, The Tanzanite Experience offers a guided tour starting at the ticket booth. A certified guide will lead you through the museum, presenting the history of Tanzanite from its discovery and showing a 20-minute documentary. You’ll learn about the various techniques used in Tanzanite mining and visit the laboratory where the stones are shaped and polished. This is also an opportunity to purchase your preferred Tanzanite stone.
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your accommodation and driven for 2 hours to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds. From the open top of the vehicle, you’ll explore the seasonal marshes, savanna, and Tarangire River, searching for animals like zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and giraffes. After a full day in the park, you’ll head to Fig Tree Lodge to relax, dine, and sleep.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park for a wildlife drive and picnic lunch. Witness the incredible migration of a million wildebeests, driven by ancient rhythms and instincts. This includes a three-week period of territorial conquests and mating, survival challenges as they cross crocodile-infested waters, and a brief population boom with over 8,000 calves born daily. You’ll have dinner and stay at Seronera Campsite.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - Spend the entire day in the park, starting at dawn to search for the Big Five. After brunch at camp, continue with an afternoon drive. The Serengeti is home to more than just big cats; its isolated granite kopjes house colorful agama lizards and rock hyraxes. With nearly 500 bird species, from ostriches and secretary birds to black eagles, the park offers a rich birdwatching experience. Lunch will be served in the afternoon, followed by another game drive. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the campground.
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - After a hearty breakfast, you’ll tour a nearby Maasai boma. The Maasai people have largely preserved their traditional way of life, and you’ll learn about their culture during the tour. Participate in traditional activities like dancing, singing, milling goats and calves, herding cattle, and making bonfires with acacia trees and animal waste. Your guide will choose a spot for your meal. You’ll also have time to purchase authentic Maasai handicrafts and take photos. Afterward, your guide will drive you to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park - After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your lodging and driven about 30 minutes to Lake Manyara National Park. The park is a photographer’s paradise, offering some of the best game viewing in the world. You’ll likely see many of Africa’s iconic animals, including the famous tree-climbing lions. Birdwatchers will be delighted by the park’s diverse species, including large flocks of flamingos, predatory birds, and the colorful lilac-breasted roller. Lunch will be served in the park at 1:00 PM, and in the afternoon, you’ll return to Arusha.
Mount Kilimanjaro
Materuni Waterfalls - After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your Arusha hotel and taken to the waterfalls, about a 40-minute walk away. Along the way, your guide will share insights about local culture, village life, and the flora and fauna. The views are stunning, and you might even catch a glimpse of the peak of Kilimanjaro. Don’t forget your swimsuit for a dip in the pool at the base of the waterfall! After enjoying the scenery, you’ll return to Materuni village for a traditional Chagga meal.
Chemka Hot Springs - Discover the hidden gem of Chemka Hot Springs, a pristine oasis surrounded by lush greenery.
