Ngorongoro Crater - On the final day of your safari, start early with a quick breakfast before descending into the crater floor around 6:30 AM. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera, with a vast floor of about 260 sq km and a depth of over 2000 feet. The 5-hour game drive on the crater floor offers abundant wildlife action, so keep your camera ready. You’ll encounter African elephants, buffalo, black rhinos, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and lions. After a picnic lunch at the scenic Hippo pool, begin the steep ascent to the crater’s top exit. This marks the final leg of your safari, with a 4-hour drive back to Arusha.
