Arusha- Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Following breakfast, the driver and naturalist tour guide will pick up the group for a journey to Tarangire National Park, situated in the Manyara Region. Although Tarangire is a smaller park, it offers remarkable sights. Activities include a wildlife game drive where visitors can observe pythons climbing trees, giant baobab trees, rolling savannah, and acacia parkland. The park is renowned for its dense wildlife population, especially during the dry season from June to September. During this time, thousands of animals such as wildebeest, zebra, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, and oryx migrate from the dry Maasai steppe to the Tarangire River in search of water, with predators like lions and leopards following closely.
LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Lake Manyara - After breakfast, the group will travel to Lake Manyara National Park, a picturesque lake that famously impressed Ernest Hemingway. This park offers a compact game viewing circuit and is one of the most diverse reserves in the country. Lake Manyara covers two-thirds of the park, with the Great Rift Valley wall as its backdrop. The park is particularly known for its tree-climbing lions. Visitors can also see elephants drinking and playing in the water, giraffes, baboon troops, zebras, and buffalo. Over 400 bird species can be found in Manyara, including thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants, and storks.
MANYARA - NGORONGORO CRATER
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - After breakfast, the group will set off for a full-day game drive at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This expansive highland area along the eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley features the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater as its centerpiece. Although not a national park in the traditional sense, it was established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources while safeguarding the interests of indigenous people and promoting tourism. Visitors on safari have the unique opportunity to see Maasai herdsmen with their cattle among the diverse wildlife in the area. Ngorongoro is home to the “big five”: lion, leopard, bull elephant, black rhino, and African buffalo.
Ngorongoro – Lake Eyasi (Cultural tour visit Datoga & Hadzabe people)
Lake Eyasi - After breakfast, the group will drive to the shores of Lake Eyasi, a scenic soda lake located on the southern border of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This less-visited lake lies at the base of the Eyasi escarpment on the western rift valley wall. In the afternoon, visitors will be introduced to the extraordinary Hadzabe tribe, indigenous hunter-gatherer Bushmen who inhabit the shores of Lake Eyasi, along with the Nilotic-speaking Datoga tribe. The visit includes exploring their homesteads, learning about their way of life, animal tracking, medicinal plants, and more. Some wildlife and a wide range of bird species can be observed during walks around the lake. After lunch, the group will pack for a transfer to Arusha for an overnight stay and dinner.
