Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, drive to Tarangire NP, enjoy full day game drive with a picnic lunch.
The park consists of natural vegetation mainly of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa.

This African National Park is also home to three rare species of animals, the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings.

Magical! - My dad and I had a wonderful experience with Meijo Safaris during January 2024. We saw so much wildlife- lions, giraffes, elephants, gazelle, zebras, rhinos, wildebeest, and even a leopard in a tree! I loved being able to sleep right inside the Serengeti park. The experience was exciting, but still felt very safe. Our driver Juma was very kind and an experienced guide. We also had a wonderful cultural experience meeting Maasai people at Lake Natron and being welcomed to visit a village. I am so happy that we made this trip. It was a once in a lifetime experience that lived up to our high expectations. Thank you Meijo Safaris!

The BEST Safari! - This trip was amazing!! From start to finish Daudi was excellent at communicating with us and helping us create our perfect itinerary. We saw the big 5, and stayed in the most amazing hotels on the way. Our guide Herman was so knowledgeable and had eyes like a hawk for the animals :) - Meijo was such a great company we have recommended them to our family who have booked a safari with them in March :) We went to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti - visiting a Massai Tribe on the way which I would 100 percent recommend. Thanks Daudi and Herman :)

Fabulous safari + waterfall hike / coffee day tour - We went on our tanzania safari in november 2023. From the moment I reached out to inquire Daudi was professional, quick to respond and thorough in answering all my questions. Our safari was amazing. Herman our guide was excellent at spotting the animals. Farm of dreams lodge was our favorite accommodation on this safari. After our safari ended we booked a day trip to a village for a coffee tour and a waterfall hike. It was a fabulous way to spend the day and experience tanzania in a different way other than safari. The coffee making process was incredible to see from plant to in your cup and was delicious. I regret not remembering our two guides names for the day tour so I could shout them out. Overall it was a fantastic experience!

10/10 recommend - My girlfriend and I went on a 4 day Safari with Meijo to end 2023. The entire experience was phenomenal. The booking experience was easy and Meijo was flexible. We had a specific route in mind to begin in the South Serengeti that Meijo accommodated. They helped think through the best route for our preferences and laid out several options. The tour itself was great. Herman, the guide, was knowledgeable, friendly and make our tour a wonderful experience. He can spot animals from very far away, knows his way around the parks exceedingly well and managed to find all the animals on our wish list. Herman is fantastic. The car was stocked with waters, beer and wine. Lunch was taken in the parks each day and tasted great. Lodging was good. The first lodge was a hotel-style property that was acceptable. The safari camp we stayed at was lovely, although baboons did break into our tent while we were away (don’t keep food in your tents!). Lastly, drop off was great. They took us to our hotel near JRO airport with a stop at a grocery store (per our request). All in all, I’d recommend.

Amazing tour of Serengeti and Kilimanjaro trek - My friends and I had an unbelievable experience of the Serengeti with Daudi and his team. They were so professional, friendly and warm and made the trip so enjoyable. We saw so many amazing animals and felt so well looked after. We also climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with David and his team of porters/guides. These men were incredible and could not have done anymore for us. They were probably the main reason all 12 of us made it to the summit. Such a conscientious, hardworking and supportive group. We can’t thank them enough for a once in lifetime experience that ran so smoothly thanks to their depth of knowledge and professionalism. Would highly recommend!

An amazing Safari and cultural experience that we will never forget!! Thank you Meijo Safaris - My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon by booking a private 7-day ‘the Best of Serengeti Mid-Range Safari’ tour with Meijo Safaris from 2 to 8 October, this included Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park (N.P), Materuni Waterfalls and Kikuletwa Hot Springs (including some great views of Mount Kilimanjaro). Overall, my wife and I had an absolutely incredible experience in Tanzania and are very grateful to Daudi and our tour guides Jordan (Days 2-5) and Godfrey (Day 6) for making this once in a lifetime experience as memorable as it was. The people we met on our journey, including Jordan and Godfrey, were a real highlight of our trip, not only for what we saw (and we saw the Big 5 - Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo), but how they made each day special. We felt completely safe and comfortable during our whole experience, both drivers were professional and knew the roads well. We had our own private 4x4 for the Safari experience which was very comfortable and safe and Meijo organised a “Just Married” wheel cover for the back of the vehicle which was a real special touch for us. Our meals and drinks throughout the day were all included (and we drank quite a few beers each day!). There were literally dozens of bottles of water in the car which were replenished each day, so there was no risk of dehydration! The meals were not packed sandwich boxes but were warm lunches which varied from roast chicken, pasta bolognese, stir fried chicken or beef, which were to the envy of our tour groups. We would recommend Meijo Tours to anyone contemplating a visit to Tanzania, it was truly a memorable experience. I started doing some research a few months ago to locate a reputable tour company and initially used Safaribookings.com and then TripAdvisor to help with our decision. I was initially apprehensive about finding the right company for our Safari as this was the first time either of us had been on a Safari and our first time in Tanzania. Daudi from Meijo was very responsive to all of my email queries (at least 10 emails!) and WhatsApp messages. We arranged a call with Daudi via WhatsApp to talk through the planned itinerary and ensure we were able to have any final questions answered and this was all a very smooth process. We paid a 12.5% deposit via electronic funds transfer and paid the balance upon Arrival in Arusha. Our accommodation for our trip was all organised by Meijo as follows: Day 1 - Karibu Heritage House, Arusha, Day 2 - Farm of Dreams Lodge - Karatu, Day 3 - Serengeti Safari Lodge, Serengeti N.P Day 4 - Serengeti Safari Lodge, Serengeti N.P Day 5 - Tulia Boutique Hotel, Arusha Day 6 - Panone Hotel King’Ori Kilimanjaro Airport Meijo upgraded us to the Farm of Dreams for Day 2 given this was our honeymoon, as this is usually a Luxury accommodation. This was by far the best accommodation we stayed in. The others were mid-range, clean and the food was good so we had no complaints. The Serengeti Safari Lodge rooms were surprisingly well constructed and comfortable despite their location in the middle of a National Park; better than expected. Despite being in the middle of the Serengeti, we felt safe with the 24 hour Masai security who patrolled the lodges and escorted all guests to and from their lodges to the main reception/dinner hall. I’ve included some more details regarding our trip below to help those who are planning their Safari adventure. Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park are all very different. Lake Manyara provides more of a Jungle experience, whereas the crater is a small version of Serengeti. Serengeti was clearly the highlight and so I would prioritise this if you are short on time, but whilst you are in the areas, doing both the crater and Lake Manyara is the wise choice, particularly given they are both on the way to Serengeti, so you could do one on the way there and one on the way back to break up the journey. Our tour started with a day trip to Lake Manyara National, Park, where we spent around 6 hours exploring. We saw countless birds, baboons, various monkeys, warthogs, wandering elephants on the road (which were the highlight!), Antelopes and it was a great way to start of tour. Our second day in Ngorongoro Crater started early where we arrived at around 10am. This was was a real highlight as we saw a male and female lion on their ‘honeymoon’, a number of Lionesses, Zebras, Wildebeests, Osterich, Jackals, Warthogs, pink Flamingoes, Hippopotamuses, Elephants, a Rhino (albeit from quite some distance) and Buffalo. We left the crater at around 2pm for the long and bumpy journey to Serengeti N.P. We had our late afternoon/early evening game drinks through Serengeti N.P and saw countless Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, Wilderbeests, Eagles and Buffalo. During our remaining time in Serengeti N.P on Day 3 and 4 we saw countless Lions (at least 50 in different areas), hundreds of Hippopotamuses, crocodiles, Elephants, Cheetahs. Our tour guide Jordan just knew where to take us and at the right times to ensure we had the best experience and we are extremely grateful! The drive back to Arusha from Serengeti was long however Jordan helped to make this as smooth as possible with a regular stops and photo opportunities, including at the Ngorongoro crater viewpoint. We also made a last minute booking for the hot air balloon experience which was good, but given the cost and the limited time in the air (about 45mins), it’s not something we would highly recommend. We didn’t see many animals from the balloon (some Giraffes, Zebras and Elephants) so it was really more from the landscape, which personally, is better seen from ground level. The final day of our tour we visited Materuni Waterfalls and Kikuletwa Hot Springs, where we also took some great photos of Mount Kilimanjaro. This part of the tour really exceeded our expectations and we would encourage anyone who is thinking about doing a Safari, to also add this onto your ‘must do’ list as it was a real cultural experience for us, meeting the locals of the Materuni village, particularly the Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee Tour. Thank you again to Meijo Tours for helping make our Honeymoon an experience we will never forget and one that we will be encouraging all of our friends to book! Asante sana!

Incredible safari experience on the budget camping safari, highly recommend this company - We did the 7 day budget safari with relaxation activity. What an incredible week. The tour was very well organised with excellent communication from the company, who visited us to give a brief the night before the safari started. Camping in the wild of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro National Parks was amazing, with animals all around us. The food was delicious all week, with local and international delicacies being hand cooked by a private chef for us at every meal. The guide was brilliant, very knowledgeable and fun, and knew all the best places to see all the animals we had hoped to see and to get the best photos. The relaxation activity included a trip to a stunning waterfall at the base of Mt Kilimanjaro, a traditional coffee making experience and a visit to beautiful natural hot springs. Highly recommend booking with this company and doing the budget safari, if you want to see real Africa and get the full cultural experience.

Amazing safari and Kilimanjaro trek - We had an amazing experience with Meijo Safaris. Our safari to the Serengeti was great and the guides and cooks were brilliant. Daudi could not have been more helpful throughout the trip and even helped my friend locate his lost baggage in Arusha airport. All 12 of us were successful in summiting Kilimanjaro and I don’t think it would have been possible without the excellent guides and porters. I would highly recommend Meijo safaris to anyone traveling to Tanzania.
