Journey from Arequipa to Chivay

Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve - The tour will include a visit to the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, where visitors can admire the Vicuña, a significant animal known for its valuable fiber, and enjoy stunning views of the province’s volcanoes.

Patahuasi - There will be a stop to savor a delightful Coca tea, perfect for acclimatization, with facilities available before continuing the tour.

Tocra - This stop offers the chance to see various Andean birds, including Ducks, Andean Geese, Coots, and more.

Abra Patapampa - The journey reaches its highest point at Patapampa, also known as the Volcano Viewpoint, at an elevation of 4910 meters above sea level. Here, visitors can admire Nevado Ampato, the active Sabancaya volcano, and Mismi, the source of the mighty Amazon River.

Plaza de Armas de Chivay - Upon arrival at the Colca Valley (Chivay), guests will enjoy a hearty buffet lunch featuring a wide array of traditional local and national dishes, followed by a brief rest at the hotel.

Chivay - The next stop is the hot springs, offering a relaxing experience in sulfurous waters with temperatures ranging from 34 to 38 degrees Celsius, while taking in the scenic surroundings. Optionally, a Qualified Guide can lead guests to a dinner show, showcasing local folklore, dances, and Andean music, before retiring to the hotel for the night.

Chivay-Cruz del Condor-Arequipa

Mirador Cruz del Condor - After a satisfying breakfast, the tour proceeds to Colca Canyon, with visits to significant towns in the Valley such as Yanque and Maca. In Maca, there’s an opportunity to try a cocktail made from cactus fruit, known as Colca Sour. Stops at viewpoints along the way allow for breathtaking views of the Valley, including Inca and pre-Inca terraces, perfect for capturing memorable photos.
Visitors will reach the “Cross of the Condor,” where they can marvel at the impressive Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world, and witness the majestic “El Condor,” the largest bird in the Andes, making the experience truly unforgettable.
The tour returns to Chivay for a buffet lunch, followed by a 5 to 6-hour drive to the city of De Puno, with stops to enjoy the stunning vistas of the Andes and the Altiplano.
