- Historic Centre of Arequipa - The White City opens up its doors in a tour that begins in the Carmen Alto viewpoint from where we will be able to admire the beautiful landscape of farming terraces and the three guardian volcanoes that surround the city: Misti, Chachani and Picchu-Picchu.
- Plaza de Armas - We will then continue to the colonial district of Yanahuara, famous for its church built in Andalusia style, and its viewpoint with is gorgeous architecture surrounded by sillar stone arches. We will then visit the Monastery of Saint Catherine, an impressive religious monument that had been closed to the public for nearly 400 years; its narrow streets, plazas and gardens reminds us of the ancient districts of Seville or Granada.
- Monasterio de Santa Catalina - Finally, we will head for the Main Square, where we will be able to see the Cathedral and the arches that surround the plaza, and then visit the Church of the Company of Jesus founded in the 17th century by the Jesuits, and which stands out for its cloisters and the famous Saint Ignacio Dome.

Don’t miss this historical site in Arequipa, Peru! - A must see site in Arequipa! We highly recommend seeing this historical site and accessing a guide once you enter. We were very impressed by the large convent which was practically its own city within Arequipa. Our guide, Claudia, was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The convent was very well maintained for its age with beautifully colored walls, period furniture, etc. It was fascinating to learn about and see how this convent operated with 500 nuns and 300 servants for many centuries.

Arequipa has a lot for visitors - Great tour of Arequipa. The city has so much to learn and discover about past history, culture and archeology. Our tour guides were very nice people and highly knowledgeable about the city. Great tour.

Santa Catalina Monasterio - A beautiful city worth visiting while touring Peru. The historic plaza is the heart of the city adorned by the splendid cathedral. The Santa Catalina historic monastery is a haven of beauty, peace, colors, and scenery. A city within a city. Take your time to walk through the history of this enchanting place.

Total disaster of no-show - None, we waited for an hour outside the hotel where we would be picked up. We were staying at a house a few blacks from the hotel. Our hosts left us there and no pick up happened. We called the local operator, no answer, the U.S. number from where we got the confirmation voucher, no answer. All this on the street on a steam afternoon. We’re seniors and this was exhausting, our only afternoon in Arequipa with great hopes of enjoying the historic city ruined. A message to your operation, Vipac Travel, was later answered with a refund and no explanation until I specifically asked for one. They said there was a mix up in dates and offered another tour which we can’t take as our time in the city is over. Very upset!!!
