Mistic Park Experience with hot springs. - To start the driver was on time. We ended up having a private tour, we were the only ones who booked that tour that day. We stopped for traditional Coata Rican breakfast. Next stop park with hanging bridges. As they day progressed we were able to see more of the top of volcano. We saw different birds, lizards and a squirrel. We went a good pace and finished in about two hours or so. We a traditional lunch and spent time in hot springs . On the drive home we a sloth on the side of the road. 10/10 experience Manual was a great tour guide.

Private Arenal Rainforest and hanging bridges tour - The private arenal hanging bridges tour is worth your time and money! From start to finish, Manual was at our service. He picked us up from our hotel and explained the entirety of our day. We stopped for a typical Costa Rican breakfast and then headed out to the rainforest. The drive is very long from Papaguyo(2-3 hours depending on traffic), but the rainforest is gorgeous! Once we made it to Mistico park we started out on our adventure. We saw birds, frogs, monkeys and even a tree sloth. Our kids 18 and 21 loved the experience. After the hike and hanging bridges, we headed to the hot springs for lunch and relaxation. It was an amazing day and Manual was an excellent tour guide!

Wonderful tour by Nesmer!... - Wonderful tour by Nesmer! Very kind and personable, full of information about the country, our tour stops, and the flora/fauna. His falcon-like ability to pick out hard-to-find animals was amazing. Very attentive to our needs during the long drives to/from Tamarindo including a couple extra stops along the way. Really enjoyed our The Arenal national park was amazing, a beautiful ecosystem unlike anything in the continental U.S. Very walkable with lots of up and down slopes on wall-marked and well-maintained paths. About 25 degrees cooler than Tamarindo, as expected, and it rained for much of the walk. For the hot springs, we were at a water park with thermal pools. We were expecting something more “natural” but a was a very nice resort with clean, enjoyable pools - very relaxing after many hours of driving and walking. Also had a good buffet lunch here. Did not include towels as expected but we managed. Overall, an excellent experience for us that we happily recommend.

Highlight of CR trip! - We loved our experience, our tour guide "Minor" was amazing! He picked us up straight from our hotel and took us to get breakfast. After, he told us some history and facts about the animal and plant life in CR as we drove to the Arenal Volcano area for our 2 mile hike. We were fully immersed into the nature and Minor was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and different Plants and trees. Our next destination was Lunch at the Hot springs in the Baldi Hotel resort. There were several different pools and saunas to run between and bar for an even more enjoyable experience. I would give this excursion a 10/10. The vehicle was spotless and clean, spacious and air conditioned. If you do this excursion, ask for Minor and bring cash for tips!

Just a great day! - The tour was great! Jonathan our tour guide and Nas the driver were so knowledgeable and could not do enough for us. It was just the two of us. We decided not to do the hot springs portion of the tour. When we told them they would have an early day, instead of taking the early day suggested a sloth tour. Nas made a call or two and got it sorted with lunch. No extra charge. What a tour it was! Saw a red eye frog, toucans and a baby sloth that was so close you could reach out and touch it which we didn’t do! It was a perfect day!

Must Do Arenal Day Trip - Lovely day seeing the beauty of Costa Rica. We were picked up on-time by our tour guide Nesmer (Nes). He was very friendly and was gracious enough to help us practice our spanish. It's a long drive (3.5 hrs) from the Riu Palace; however the scenery is beautiful and Nes pointed out many sites along the way and offered lots of great information about the country. We arrived in Arenal (Mystic Park) and spent a couple hours walking through the park on a very well maintained path and the hanging bridges (it's not really a hike, more of a walk). It was spectacular despite the pouring rain. Beautiful views! We then loaded back in the car soaking wet despite rain gear (that's how much it rained) and drove to Baldi Hot Springs Resort. We were able to spend several hours enjoying the beautiful pools and a lovely lunch. It's a long day (13 hours), but a lovely opportunity to see the countryside and multiple vantage points of the volcano (when the clouds miraculously cleared) and Lake Arenal. Nes was a great tour guide and driver. The car was very clean, comfortable and roomy for our family of 4 and all our bags! Highly recommend this excursion with this provider Seven Senses!

Nice way to mix up the trip - It was refreshing to venture away and see a different part of Costa Rica. We stayed in Tamarindo (great town). It is a LONG day on the road for 2 activities + 2 meals. A few had nauseous (3 of 6 adults) as the drive went uphill and many switchbacks in the Arenal region. We all agreed we wouldn't want to drive this on our own, leave it to the locals. Roads very narrow. We were very happy to see we were provided rain ponchos (by the tour co.) as it was misty rain while hiking in the Arenal rain forest (which it does 75% of the time). The hanging bridges are a part of the hike, not a separate stop. It was fairly easy but some inclines. We are all early 50's. I'd recommend wearing water resistant tennis type shoes (socks) an as we all had wet feet. Or bring extra shoes & socks (flip flops for the pools). The hot spring pools were in a hotel type setting (where late lunch was as well) not out in nature (as some of us thought). One of the pools has a bar so you can grab a drink (MC & Visa accepted, no Amex). Breakfast and lunch were fine - typical CR food offerings. We eat pescatarian and there was varieties so no issue. It might have been more authentic to eat at a small venue or soda type restaurant along the mountain drive. Manuel was such a pleasant guy. He was conversational and shared CR tidbits with us throughout the day. He continually kept watch on the hike for cool species to share with us. Came across a couple. If you want to spend a night or two in Arenal (La Fortuna) on your own plan a driver. Overall it was interesting but wouldn't need to repeat.

Not worth the time and money you spend - Very expensive, long duration, you can’t see wildlife only trees. The hot springs are in beautiful resorts but the water is very hot and you can’t stay more than 30-60 seconds. We didn’t get the breakfast in cafe macadamia which was included in the trip when I booked it.
