- Iximché - Discover Iximché, a significant archaeological site in the Guatemalan Highlands, once the capital of the Kaqchikel Maya during the Late Postclassic era. This site, a former influential political and ceremonial hub from the 12th to 15th centuries, played a pivotal role during the Spanish Conquest and is recognized as Guatemala’s first capital.
Upon arrival, visitors will be greeted by a local bilingual guide at the site’s entrance, where the guided tour commences. The tour includes a walk through the site’s four ceremonial plazas, surrounded by temples, structures up to 10 meters tall, and two Maya ball courts. Through engaging explanations and storytelling, the guide will illuminate the social organization, rituals, and defensive strategies of the Kaqchikel people.
The tour also features a visit to the on-site museum (closed on Mondays), where sculptures and ceramics unearthed during excavations offer further insights into daily life and ceremonial practices.

- A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
- Entrance fee - The site entrance fee is not included and must be paid on-site: Q50.00 per person, payable in cash (local currency).
- Language - The tour is conducted in English and Spanish.
- Food & drinks - Snacks and water are not included. You are welcome to bring your own.
- Pickup window & timing - Pickup takes place between 7:20-7:45am., depending on traffic and the final route. Please note that times may vary due to local traffic conditions.
- If you are traveling solo, we kindly encourage you to contact us before booking. This experience operates with a minimum of two participants; however, in some cases we may already have other travelers booked or interested on the same date. When possible, we are happy to match solo travelers with existing reservations so the tour can be confirmed.
