If you like adventure, this one is for you - Our hike with Dwight was absolutely amazing! Dwight is so knowledgeable and experienced. He made us feel safe and shared a great deal of information about the island with us.
We booked the “easy” hike to Pillars of Hercules. Dwight said it’s easy and more like a walk. We were a little disappointed when he said it was a walk, because we did want a hike and boy did we get it! I’m 52 and even though I walk quite a bit at home, this was no walk. We walked up and then down hilly, rocky trails, which was so worth it for the views at the top. Getting to the Pillars of Hercules involved climbing over and around a bunch of big rocks and boulders. Definitely not easy and while it was challenging, it was so worth every bit! I have bad knees and ankles so while I struggled some, Dwight made sure I was safe and never rushed us, showing us the safest route. Dwight is an incredible guide and this is a must do excursion!

A beautiful hike to see all the views of Antigua's South. - Thank you for the wonderful hike yesterday morning! I thoroughly enjoyed Rick's company, and I enjoyed our conversation too. The views up on the highest points of the trek were breathtaking! We could see Montserrat in the distance, as it was quite a clear morning. We passed beautiful wild flora and fauna, including flowering cactus and sheep and goats. We passed a few fellow hikers along the way too. I would definitely recommend this hike, a group brisk morning exercise whilst seeing some of the beautiful sights of Antigua, including Shirley Heights, English Harbour etc. Thank you for a Saturday morning well spent!

Great Time at Pillars of Hercules - My husband and I did the Pillars of Hercules tour on 4/14 with Dwight and had a great time! When we saw photos of the location, we knew we had to see it for ourselves. Dwight was right on time to pick us up at our resort and he was friendly and provided us with a lot of interesting information about the areas that we passed through on our ride. We added a side quest to the Mermaid Pools which was amazing. We were fortunate enough to experience our hike durning a very low tide which allowed us to see many areas that are not typically accessible. Dwight let us take as much time as we wanted to take photos and explore the area. When we return to Antigua in the future, we will absolutley book more hikes with Trek Tours.

100% highly recommend... - 100% highly recommend given difficulty to navigate the trail itself and to be able to access to the summit. Our guide was amazing.

Rick and the pillars of hercules were fantastic - Booked through SEG and Rick was our guide. Turns out we were the only 2 on the tour and it was fantastic. We realized while we would have found the trails on our own, Rick knew the best way to go and judged our abilities accurately . We aren't athletes and still needed bit help up the difficult trail but he was always there to literally lend a hand. Climbing up and over the pillars was amazing. Sometimes you are merely a foot or 2 from the edge so that added to the excitement. Seeing goats and a person fishing from the cliffs was awesome. once we hiked down to beach level I crossed the rocks to get to the front of the pillars. My gf stayed behind as it was a bit challenging and she got some great pics of the climbing.
As long as you take your time and feel each rock, you will be fine but it does take some planning each step. You dont want to fall. Once at the base of the pillars I was given a choice to proceed or not but the tide was pretty high and every time the waves came in they covered the base of the pillars. I decided not to proceed but it was still very fun! If you come here on your own try to time low tide for the best way to get on the pillars themselves.
Rick made this journey much more enjoyable and if you are daring, not afraid of heights and like a challenge, you simply must do this! We are in our 50s and love exploring nature this way.

Boggy Peak hiking trip - Excellent hike up to the highest point on Antigua. The guide was great and provided really helpful tips and information. It was fun to find, smell and eat "stinking toe" ! The other guests on the trek were equally fun and enhanced the whole day. Great views from the top and a really good and well-marked trail to follow.

Boggy Peak - I had originally intended to hike Boggy Peak alone, but when I no longer had a rental car due a flight delay, I realized it was easier to book this 'tour' than to get a taxi to drop me off and then pick me up at the remote trailhead. Hiking with Trek Tours also came with the key to the gated area at the top of the mountain. Without it, you have to stop at the gate and not reach the top of the mountain.
Rick was a great guide, giving me an overview of the island on the drive to the trailhead. He was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and was great to chat with as we hiked up and down the mountain. While the trail was not technical at all, it was great to have someone so friendly to hike with.

Great day of stingrays and hiking - My son and I spent a day with Trek Tours on a Stingray City / Mount Obama "Hike n Ray" combo. We booked only a few days prior to the adventure, but Shawn took care of all the planning to make things work, and always replied quickly to our emails. On the day of our adventure, Dwight drove us from our hotel to Stingray City and took care of all of the logistics for that experience. We then drove to the southwest for a hike up Mount Obama (Boggy Peak). It's a rainforest hike, steep in places, but Dwight was always very careful to point hazards and make sure we had no problems. His knowledge of the forest's plants and animals was amazing, and he pointed out many tropical fruit trees and other important trees such as mahogany. We also learned a lot about Antiguan history as we walked. Overall, an incredible all-day adventure!
