Day 1: Visit Tonlé Sap (Floating Village) and Beng Mealea

Kampong Phluk Floating Village - Breakfast. In the morning, a French-speaking guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel at 8 am. You will visit the largest freshwater reserve in Southeast Asia, the picturesque lakeside villages of Tonlé Sap, located about 30 km south of Siem Reap. You will take a private boat to see the daily life of Cambodians on the water, the fishermen, and the mangrove landscapes. During the rainy season, locals travel by boat on the lake, children go to school by boat, and women sell cakes and vegetables from their small boats. Walk through the walkways of the fishing village perched on huge stilts. The houses are on immense stilts 6 to 7 meters high. The houses are surrounded by the flooded forest, which can be visited by boat during the rainy season and on foot during the dry season.

Beng Mealea
The Tonlé Sap, designated a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1997 for its ecological, economic, social, and cultural value, is the largest freshwater reserve in Southeast Asia. It is also the feeding lake for more than half of the Cambodian population.

People live around the lake and most of them earn their living from fishing and also agriculture, in floating houses, and all activities revolve around fishing, there are many huge fish farms in floating cages. More than 300,000 tons of fish are caught each year.

The afternoon, lunch in a Cambodian restaurant

After the meal and a rest, you will continue the visit to discover the Beng Mealea temple dated from the 12th century abandoned in the middle of the forest and surrounded by tree roots. This temple is located 60 km from Siem Reap, was built by Suryavarman II, it has never been restored.
Return to Siem Reap in the late afternoon

Day 2: See sunrise and visit the temples of the small circuit

Angkor Wat - You will be picked up from your Siem Reap hotel between 4:45 or 5 am. You will witness the sunrise in front of the Angkor Wat temple.

After seeing the sunrise, you will visit the largest and most impressive temple of all the Angkor temples. Angkor Wat is the largest religious building in the world. The construction of this 12th-century architectural masterpiece took 30 years and symbolizes the peak of the Khmer civilization. The 5 towers of Angkor Wat are depicted on the current Cambodian flag.

You will continue the visit through the south gate of Angkor Thom, flanked on either side by a row of 54 stone statues (gods on the right and demons on the left) as well as the fortified city of Angkor Thom.
Next, visit the Bayon temple (12th century), where you can admire its central towers beautifully carved with 200 huge faces. You will then explore the Royal Palace, the Terrace of the Elephants, Baphoun (11th-century temple with a large reclining Buddha), Phimeanakas, and the Terrace of the Leper King.

After the meal and a rest, you will continue to see Ta Prohm, enveloped by the jungle. Ta Prohm is one of the most atmospheric temples of Angkor. Once inhabited by 2,740 monks, Ta Prohm today looks much like it did in the 1850s when French explorer Henri Mouhot rediscovered the site in ruins. (The temple was used as a filming location for the movie Tomb Raider, starring Angelina Jolie)
After exploring the labyrinthine interior of Ta Prohm, you will return to your hotel.

Day 3: Visit Banteay Srei and Banteay Samrè the temples of the grand circuit

Banteay Srei - In the morning, after breakfast, we will pick you up at 8 am, you will visit the temple an hour’s drive from the Angkor Temples, Banteay Srei dates from the 10th century, also called ‘’ the citadel of women”, it is a small wonder of pink sandstone, very well preserved. With rare finesse, richly and finely decorated with graceful motifs and scenes from Hindu mythology, On the way back, stop in a village for a demonstration of palm juice harvesting for the making of palm sugar. Then you will visit a temple from the 12th century dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva, called Banteay Samrè.

The afternoon, continue your visit to the Angkor site, you will visit the temples of the grand circuit, Preah Khan, this temple was built in the same period as the Ta Prohm temple - continuation towards a sanctuary placed in the middle of an artificial basin called Neak Pean, Ta Som temple reigning from the reign of King Jayavarman VII, the East Mebon and Pre Rup temple were built in the 10th century.
Return to the city of Siem Reap
