Shortly after, the bustling urban areas give way to a vastly different habitat. The landscape transforms into a lush, verdant expanse teeming with dense flora. Your guide will share insights into the unique qualities and historical significance of this Andean woodland. The trip to the coffee farm will last approximately two and a half hours. Upon arrival, a local farmer will welcome us and lead an in-depth exploration and discussion of the plantation. We’ll start with an overview of coffee seed germination and cultivation. We’ll learn about the various coffee varieties found here, with the arabica-caturra or tipica being the most prominent. Engage hands-on in the post-harvest activities, including selecting beans, depulping, fermenting, drying, and threshing. Subsequently, we’ll proceed to the ancient city of Tulipe.
