- Beluga Point - A scenic viewpoint perfect for watching Beluga whales. Complimentary photography lessons are available.
- Portage Glacier - Accessible only in summer, from June to August, with an optional upgrade. Take a Glacier Cruise to get close to Portage Glacier. Witness the face of Portage Glacier aboard the Ptarmigan Cruise ship and see up to 14 glaciers nestled within the rugged mountains of the Chugach National Forest, forming the Ring of Glaciers. This cruise can be upgraded for an additional fee and is not included in the regular tour cost. The Portage Glacier cruise is conducted in partnership with the U.S. Dept of Agriculture and hosted by a U.S. Park Ranger. This boat ride is NOT part of the basic Wilderness Wildlife Glacier Experience tour. The standard tour, without the cruise upgrade, still offers views of glaciers within Glacier Valley. Free photography lessons are provided.
- Cook Inlet - Visit Bird Point and select viewpoints to photograph soaring eagles, mountain goats, and whales, or stroll through alpine meadows. Free photography lessons are available.
- Downtown - Take an Anchorage City Tour before venturing into the wilderness.
- Potter Marsh Bird Sanctuary - Observe incredible flying wildlife and explore marsh areas that are home to moose, salmon, and other migrating species.
- Indian Valley Mine, National Historic Site - Discover and explore the historic Gold Rush of 1890, Eureka!
- Bird Creek - Enjoy scenic valley views and look for seasonal bears and eagles.
- Byron Glacier Trail - A seasonal self-guided walk to the base of Byron Glacier, typically available from late May to mid-September.
- Explorer Glacier - View the scenic glacial ponds of Explorer Glacier. When seasonally accessible, walk on the Blue Ice Trail.
- Williwaw Campground - Explore the campgrounds in Glacier Valley.
- Trail of Blue Ice - Walk through America’s northernmost rainforest.
- McHugh Creek Recreation Area - Offers a wonderful viewpoint of Chickaloon Bay.
- Flattop Mountain - At over 3000 feet, this notable mountain peak is visible throughout Anchorage.
