The Ultimate Food Tour in Anchorage!

We start our journey in the modern day and gradually step back into the late 19th century, discovering the rich history of the state fondly known as the Land of the Midnight Sun through anecdotes of the people who resided here.

Embark on a culinary journey through the heart of Anchorage downtown with us and get absorbed in the unique culture and flavors this city has to offer.

Our knowledgeable guide is here to take you through a gastronomic exploration of Alaska’s most culturally-diverse city.

As we saunter through, our guide will regale you with fascinating tales about life in this magnificent expanse.

Often referred to as ‘Land of the Midnight Sun’, we are virtually a million miles away from Washington, the closest US state, making the awe-inspiring landscapes and rare wildlife a truly unique spectacle found nowhere else in the country.

Given these facts, it isn’t entirely surprising that Alaskan food culture radiates a unique charm by itself.

  • *This tour requires moving on your own or with assistance (wheelchair) for 15 - 20 minutes at a time. Though seating at establishments is often available, it is not guaranteed. Great walking tour after Alaskan cruise - Really enjoyed this food walking tour. It was a highlight of our short stay in Anchorage. Would definitely recommend. We got history, food and drinks all in one tour. It was fun after getting off of our cruise ship waiting for our departure flights.

Food & Fun in Downtown Anchorage - I try to take a food tour whenever I can on travel; and even though this is my home state and a city I have lived in before, it's no exception! The guide, Dan, is a huge part of what makes this so fun and a neat experience. The food is the other huge part! You walk around downtown, which is do-able for most anyone; eat good food and learn about why it's important to Alaska, and get some fun stories along the way.

Laid back awesome experience! - Firstly, Dan was an awesome tour guide! He showed us around to some great local spots, where we enjoyed a lot more food and drinks than I was initially expecting (I'm glad I didn't eat lunch before the tour). The tour of downtown helped us to get familiar with the area, and we really enjoyed Dan's stories about growing up in Alaska. We will definitely be booking additional tours with Sights & Bites on our next visit. Dan also had great advice on other things to do both in and out of town. Thanks again, Dan!
