For the Ultimate Canal Cruise, the luxury boats Stan Huygens and Pure Spirit are primarily used, as described below.
Stan Huygens:
- An iconic canal yacht, once a favorite and regularly chartered by Freddy Heineken
- Accommodates up to 24 guests
- Live commentary provided by your host and captain
- Open bar service managed by your host
- Windows and sunroof can be opened or closed depending on the weather.
Pure Spirit:
- A beautifully restored classic launch
- Accommodates up to 16 guests
- Live commentary provided by your captain
- Self-service open bar – the captain serves the first round, then guests can help themselves
- (Semi) open boat. Depending on the weather, the Pure Spirit will either be open or covered with a modular canopy.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Minimum drinking age is 18 year
- Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking
- Minimum cruising age is 14+
- Maximum group size is 16 guests
- This cruise is not suitable for stag parties/bachelorette parties. Please get in touch so we organize a private event.

Pure Boats Amsterdam never disappoints. - As a local, it’s my go-to whenever friends or family visit. The entire experience is consistently excellent - from the friendly and attentive crew to the high-quality drinks, delicious snacks, and relaxed, intimate atmosphere. Our captain was also a lot of fun and added a great energy to the tour. A perfect way to experience the canals!

Cool, beautiful and pleasant - Atmosphere both friendly and family in a beautiful peniche. Must-see experience to discover the canals of amsterdam and identify the beautiful buildings. Unlimited drinks and pilot guide and friendly staff.

Book this Canal Tour - so much fun - We had the best time on this tour. So first - you get a full view of the canals and Amsterdam. Second, the wine and beers and snacks are fantastic. Third and most importantly our tour hosts - Virginia, Pex and our skipper Will (I apologize in advance for name mis-spellings) were the perfect combination of fun, informative and very attentive. Virginia did a top notch job of telling us some great stories of members of the Dutch resistance - Flora and Willem - who risked their own lives to take on the Nazis who were patrolling. No spoiler alerts here - go on the cruise to hear the story yourself. We also loved the boat - beautiful and comfortable. My husband and I had the best time. I would go on another one of these cruises in a second.

Feel Pampered on this Elegant Canal Cruise - This was such a beautiful and elegant boat and we felt truly pampered. Captain Rick and Pax were our welcoming crew. Each party was seated in a luxurious round booth with a table and offered a choice of beverage. Lovely views all along the way with interesting historical comments as we made our way through the canals. Each couple shared a snack tray with Dutch cheese, crackers, biscuits and olives, and enjoyed an open bar. Toilet on board was very helpful. We enjoyed sunny weather, but the boat had covering in case of rain. Truly a fantastic way to see Amsterdam's interesting and historic architecture. What a relaxing way to finish our day in Amsterdam!

The most lovely boat on the canal! - Definitely THE most beautiful boat on the canal. And covered, which the majority are not. It was a lovely evening and we were able to open the windows to enjoy the sights and sounds. The cheese/snack plates were plentiful and the service was amazing. The selection of alcohol was nice.
The staff provided lots of historical facts, but were not talking the whole time, so you got to relax a bit and view the sites. While the boat can seat 24 for this particular tour, we only had eight people, which was great.
I knew I wanted to go on a canal cruise, but didn't want it to be cheesy, which many of them are. So I was willing to pay a bit more for a nice boat

Choose Pure Boats for the best Canal Cruise - We did the morning cruise and it was great to get out before anyone was awake, while the markets nearby were still setting up! Worth the extra cost as it is a much nicer experience to be in a beautiful old boat with a small group, instead of the giant cruise boats which I did not enjoy on my last visit to Amsterdam. Great information and stories, learned a lot. They have a range of drink options and even cozy blankets for the chilly morning.
