Pinnacle of Western art is wondrous to behold - The Old Masters such as Rembrandt and Vermeer are the high point of the Northern Rennaissance, it is arguable. that this period is the pinnacle of Western art. The subtlety and intuition revealed in these paintings is wonderful. "The Night Watch" is, by itself, worth a trip to the Rijksmuseum. The artistic achievements of this small trading nation are wondrous to behold.

Vermeer exhibition: an experience of a lifetime. - The main reason we crossed half of the world and flew to Amsterdam this Spring was a Vermeer exhibition at Rijksmuseum. What a delightful experience! An excellent addition to this was a guided private tour we bought from the SnurkTravel. One of their guides, Hanna, spent with us a few hours showing us through the exhibition. Her depth of knowledge about art and art history, specifically about Vermeer, was impressive, and we are happy that we bought this tour. We will use SnurkTravel in the future and recommend it to others.

L’ Visage de le Dutch - A stunning tour of 17th century art and culture woven with historical and anecdotal information. The tour guide, Hanna, was as knowledgeable as enthused to share nuances that could be easily missed. From symbolisms to brushstrokes to the unbelievable masterpieces that cannot be fully described by words, a implosion of Dutch history and achievement. You will be amazed.
