Devour Food Tour Amsterdam...and boy did we devour - Love taking food tours as soon as we get into a new city. This gets us a great lay of the land and opportunity to try new and different foods. When in Amsterdam we booked a food tour with Devour Food Tours. Our guide was Carolina J. She was informative and we had great food....Stroopwaffels, herring, frites.... she gave us great recommendations on shops and restaurants. She even gave us a little history lesson of Amsterdam. Great tour. We ended up going back to a lot of places on the tour to get the same food again. The stroopwaffel place was just a short walk from out hotel. Devour likes to use excellent small shops and stays away from the touristy locations. Great tour.

Gastronomy and Culture on Walks Ultimate Amsterdam Food Tour! - Amsterdam food tour exceeded our expectations- culture, history and walk through 4 neighborhoods. Good value and six tasty stops- the approximate 2 miles of strolling helps ease the caloric burden of the apple pie and stroopwafel! Maarteen was a great guide with Dutch history as it related to food and food establishments, an more. I'd choose Walks again. Carolyn from CT USA

Delicious, small food tour! - Maarten was fantastic, and we loved this small tour! We made about 6 stops at small restaurants sampling cheese, fishes, apple pie, local snacks, fries, and beers. A great way to see the city and get started on your vacation. We spent the rest of our trip ordering these now-familiar foods.. like a local!

Not quite the same quality as other Devour Tours - We’ve done Devour tours in Paris and Madrid and thought they were excellent! This one wasn’t quite the same level. Our guide wasn’t native to Amsterdam, so she didn’t have the cultural background to share with us. She also wasn’t the most personable. She just left us to eat on our own at two of the stops, rather than chatting with us. Our first stop, at 10am, was for apple pie. It seemed an odd choice to start with so I asked if apple pie was a typical breakfast or morning food, and she said it’s not. It was just a convenient place to start. And then we went on to have cheese and liquor, then herring and cod, stroopwaffel and then a sit down lunch. It was all okay. If a friend asked, I would probably say to look for a different food tour. There are so many wonderful things to try in Amsterdam, so I imagine there is a better food tour out there
