Great choice! - They took us to two quaint villages, one was on the water. Both were beautiful!!! So glad I got out of the city, saw the villages and learned about traditions, and saw how things were made. I wish we had more time everywhere because we didn’t want to leave. Great choice for a few hours if you are in Amsterdam.

Great tour!! - Amazing guide, full of very interesting fun facts and information. The bus ride was very comfortable, we had plenty of time to explore on our own. I would highly recommend it!!!

Great day away from Amsterdam - Really good day out away from the city. Good balance of guided times (clog making & cheese making) and free time to relax and have coffee or spend time in the traditional village shops.

Amsterdam old world and Volendam - A day to see the old ways and traditions of Amsterdam. A wonderful in sight to the past. Rick our guide is a real character complete with animal noises! Take note to enter the windmills has a fee around 7 euros. But still a great experience. Volendam village was very relaxing lunch break. Enjoy.

Zaanse Schans Windmills and Voldendam Tour - Amsterdam - Starting point was less than a mile from the cruise port so easily accessible by walking. Nice tour but very rushed. We really didn't have a lot of time to look around (on our own) and go through the shops. The schedule was packed tight and we were on a very rigid schedule. We really enjoyed seeing the windmills, the clog making, and the cheese making. The cheese making presentation seemed more like a sales pitch to buy their products but understandable since they were running a business. Would have liked to spend more time in Volendam but we had to get back due to the tour schedule and to catch our cruise ship.

Netherlands. - The tour was wonderful...the tour guide was NOT! She was rude, sarcastic and made comments about some of the tourists.

Great locations, poor guidance - The places we visited were wonderful and it gave us a chance to see the area well. The add-on portion of the Canal tour was very poor, however. The mic system did not seem to work and there was very little narration about what we were passing or where we were going. It seems like we sat in a hot vehicle And rode around in circles. Very disappointing.

Not great overall - Overall it was just Ok. I would say the cheese part was pretty sparse. It could have been much better. They explained but did not really show anything. It seemed like just a way to sell some cheese. The walk in the town was also just a way for us to spend money. The windmills were interesting but again it was a fake town.

Worst experience of my life - Although I confirmed my trip 7:28pm the night before with a confirmation I might add. I got there at 8am where instructed and no one was there. I was there with my 14 year old grandaughter. It was raining. Almost 1/2 hour later another tour guide came and I showed him all my paperwork and printed out communications with Viator. He sad sadly my tour had been cancelled and rescheduled for the PREVIOUS month! He was so apologetic. It was on a trip of a lifetime and they totally dropped the ball. The only miracle that happened was that the next tour leaving at 9:30am had 2 spots vacant and they let us on. But it did not go to volendam. Trip advisor joined Viator. Viator subs out tours to other tour companies. You have no recourse, no one to call. They give you a European number which my American phone could not connect to. luckily, I printed out every detail of my trip and confirmations with dates and times so I had evidence and proof. They never contacted me to cancel my excursion. I checked my email and What’s Ap several times a day. I even went to the meeting point the day before to make sure I was going to the right place because we had to meet so early. There are many tour groups and locations in Amsterdam. I will never use trip advisor or Viator again. I had a bad experience with them last year in Italy. They are almost impossible to contact when u need them. They tell you to contact your tour company. Well I thought it was Viator! Not some hole in the wall other company with no one to contact. I was saved by god for the next tour but now the once in a lifetime tour with my grandaughter to Volendam will never happen. Whatever you do. Print everything out. Triple check. Get confirmations with dates and times. Many of the meeting places are in strange areas like inside a restaurant with no name just address on a large pier with many busses and boats at a large train station. If you don’t know your way around it’s easy to be lost. Luckily I went the day before to make sure. I would never use this company ever again. I almost had a heart attack. I don’t know who the kind gentlemen was who allowed us to go on his tour, it was the only saving grace. God must have had mercy on me. This was a once in a lifetime trip. Don’t trust trip Advisor or Viator. Take a better tour company, it may cost more but worth it in the long run or book it when you’re here in the country. I was in Amsterdam. I hope this helps.
