Call it maritimazing! - This was an amazing place to visit, even though it's been 44 years since I was there I remember it like it was yesterday. I highly recommend this on your trip!

Playful, modern... a nice surprise! - An ideal location with views of all Amsterdam, a superb boat to visit but even more to experience!! Exploration ground, exhibitions are varied and involved, no time to be bored neither children nor teenagers ... 3 hours including tea on site, even for non-Dutch speakers!

Extremely fun and educational experience! - Very interesting and lively museum! Beautiful paintings, maps, ships and other objects. The replica of the VOC ship is also worth a look. We spent 3 hours in the museum but could have spent more time (but we also took our time with everything).

Interesting - Temporary exhibition on the food production is very interesting The museum’s audio guided tour is interesting in how it highlights the link between Holland’s economic growth and slavery.

Shipping museum Amsterdam - Very nice museum, we combined this visit with a day in Amsterdam. Didn't expect us to be around here this long. There is a lot to see, beautiful collections, for example the boats and nautical collection. Eye opener the exhibition on food. For families with children also fun through interactive activities. There is a restaurant where you can eat something. We also had a drink in the courtyard, the roof there is glass, very nice. Outside you can visit a replica of VOC ship Amsterdam, it was quite busy at the time, nice to look at, but it remains fake of course.

Nice discovery. - Do not miss this beautiful museum, close to the central station. Even if the signage is not always obvious do not hesitate to push the doors and climb into the floors where the view of the port is very beautiful. superb models and marine instruments. It is absolutely necessary to go out to the boat old rigging 3 mats life size, especially with children, the free visit is remarkable is very pedagogical to understand the life of sailors on board ships of the 18th century.

A Great Visit - Decided to explore this museum after seeing it on my hop-on hop-off canal tour. It was a wet day, so nice and warm inside. Well set out displays in the fine building. Good audio. I particularly enjoyed the ships' decorations section. Only negative for me was that umbrellas had to be left in locker which I accept. But then to view the ships outside, I had to get wet. Pleasant staff. Spotless toilets 🚻 ♥️
