The Do Eat Better Experience Amsterdam Food Tour offers a delightful walking tour in small groups through the picturesque streets of Amsterdam. Guided by a Local Expert, participants will discover both iconic eateries and hidden treasures, gaining insights into their history, unique preparations, and cultural importance.
This tour perfectly combines authentic Dutch flavors with a leisurely walking experience alongside a local friend. Participants will enjoy a full meal across at least four stops, sampling some of the most traditional Dutch dishes: rich and creamy cheeses, crispy Patatje Oorlog, fresh herring, savory beef croquettes, and the renowned stroopwafels. Naturally, no Dutch culinary experience would be complete without pairing it with a local beer!

Great Food and Culture tour with Todd - We had an incredible food tour in Amsterdam with our guide, Todd, who is originally from Wisconsin and has lived in the city for 13 years. His deep knowledge of both Dutch culture and American perspective made the experience especially engaging and easy to understand.
Our tour began with a walk through the vibrant flower market, followed by a stop at Henri Willig for some outstanding cheese. From there, we sampled a classic Dutch specialty—herring—which Todd explained in a way that made it approachable even for first-timers. We also enjoyed traditional Dutch fries with a variety of sauces, which were absolutely delicious.
One of the highlights was Melly’s Stroopwafels, served warm right out of the oven—easily a favorite moment of the tour. We wrapped up the experience at a cozy local pub, which was the perfect ending.
Throughout the tour, Todd pointed out key landmarks, shared fascinating insights, and patiently answered all of our questions. He also made sure to stop frequently for photos, which we really appreciated. His ability to interpret cultural nuances from a fellow American perspective made everything more meaningful and easy to follow.
I would highly recommend this food tour with Todd—it was a perfect blend of great food, local history, and excellent company.

Amazing experience with Todd of Do Eat Better - Todd was exceptional as a tour guide. We enjoyed each of our meal stops. The cheese, herring, Melly’s StroopWafels, fries with sauce and lunch were all outstanding. Great value for the money. Todd was so informative with knowledge of Amsterdam and the heritage.

One of the Best food tours! - Our family of 4 (2 teenagers) loved this food tour + Amsterdam history walk with Todd! He was the best. Very engaging and we especially loved the herring. Sign up for this tour with Todd- you won’t regret it!

Best experience ever!! - Irina was incredible! She was so fun and knowledgeable and nice! We love food and Irina took us to interesting little places to try local cuisine. So delicious and things we would have never thought to try on our own. An experience I will never forget! I can’t recommend the tour and/or Irene enough.

Excellent Food Tour - Loved the Amsterdam food tour and our guide, Kees. Was able to really see a lot of the city, learn some interesting cultural and historical facts, and taste great Dutch food and drinks. Highly recommend!
