Great way to experience the city - This tour was exactly what I was hoping for. A laid back, non-commercial, REAL, Amsterdam experience. Being able to talk with real locals, even some that weren’t supposed to be part of our tour but happily joined us at the pub, was special. And I truly appreciate Sinead’s honesty and humor throughout the afternoon. I would highly recommend to anyone. I’ve

Exceptional tour of Amsterdam - A wonderfully informative, personal and authentic tour of Amsterdam. Sinead led our group of 5 through some rainy weather keeping us comfortable and entertained. The 4 hours flew by with two stops for refreshments at very special local spots and meetings and conversations with two other Amsterdamers, which we ill not soon forget. We've taken many city tours, while traveling, and this one stands out for helping us feel connected to a new city and the lovely people who live there.

Great tour, excellent guide, nice intro to Amsterdam - Took the tour included in the iamsterdam card, and it was really great! It was super easy to meet the guide at the meeting spot. Sinead (our guide) was really friendly and her stories really brought the city to life, she was very expressive and answered all our questions. A great intro to a very interesting city!

THE BEST TOUR IN AMS..... SIGN UP NOW ! ! ! - I was in AMS for the first time and wanted a unique experience where I would meet locals and the tour with this company is AMAZING. Our guide, Xina, the best narrator and storyteller of history, culture, food, art and current events. Xina is an Ambassador of Amsterdam. The visit and interactions with the locals was a great way to get to know the real AMS. The stop at The Papeneiland Café perfectly timed for a break and the best apple pie. Our visit with Sunny from the RLD was exceptional. Don't hesitate and sign up for this tour. Thanks Xina for an amazing afternoon in Amsterdam.

Must do tour, one of the highlights of our trip! - We found this tour on the trip advisor article, 5 perfect days in Amsterdam, which I found midway through our trip. It was very informative. We had something else scheduled, but as soon as I read the trip advisor reviews, I knew that we had to rearrange our schedule to take this tour. All the other reviews are spot on. When we tour a city, we like to get to know it through the eyes of the locals, and this tour accomplished that. Sinead was a great tour guide. Patient, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, she showed us a side of the city that we would not have otherwise experienced. From meeting Warren the flower bike man to the explanation of the legalization of cannabis and sex work, we felt like we could understand the city quite a bit better than the typical tourist. The nature of the tour was also to foster camaraderie between all of the other participants, and Sinead accomplished that with ice breakers during the stop with apple pie and beer. Sinead did not gloss over or sugarcoat some of the more complicated issues in Dutch history and modern times. Although the tour advertises meeting 2 locals, one of ours had to cancel last minute due to a personal situation. Sinead was exceedingly apologetic and did a great job filling the gap. They even offered a partial refund due to the circumstances, but it was unnecessary as the tour was great as it was. We highly recommend this tour. It was one of the highlights of our week in Amsterdam.

Flashing - special - extraordinary - Best tour ever! - We had an unforgettable company outing in Amsterdam, thanks to "Who is Amsterdam." This exceptional private city tour left us absolutely awe-struck and flashed and it was the highlight of our trip! Alexandra from "Who is Amsterdam" presented us HER Amsterdam, far away from dry facts and figures, but with real Amsterdamers and their way of loving, living and working in this vibrant city. It was a colourful, varied and never boring. We were all captivated by the rich history and culture of Amsterdam, and it was all thanks to their extraordinary guidance. Thank you so much Alexandra that you shared such a lot with us!

The absolute best - This tour completely changed my perspective of Amsterdam. My husband and I had already spent a couple of days in the city before we did this tour and I had found it completely overwhelming - crowded, noisy (acknowledging we visited in peak tourist season) and honestly it just seemed like the city was trying too hard to appeal to the party-seeking tourists. But then we did this tour. I learned so much about the city and the people who call it home. We met some truly beautiful humans and heard their stories. The city became a different place to me after this tour and I am so glad for that. Xina, our tour guide, was also wonderful. They shared their experience, stories and information with such warmth, knowledge and a real love for the city. They did a great job facilitating the tour and engaging with the group. I cannot stress this enough - book this tour. It was not only the highlight of our stay in Amsterdam but one of the highlights of our Europe trip.

Best tour experience EVER! - We LOVED this tour! It was the highlight of our week in Amsterdam. We didn’t want a dry, historical, narrative. What appealed to us miss was the immersive experience. Meeting different people, hearing their stories. What a difference this made! After our tour, we KNEW about Amsterdam in a way we’d have never known from the usual “see the city” type structure. Skip the buses, most of the canal tours and signup for Meet the Locals! Without exaggeration, this tour made our trip. It is unique and welcoming. We weren’t a group of tourists following a guide, we were friends out for a walk. We didn’t even look like a bunch of site seeing tourists. We met 3 unique different Amsterdammers personally and had a fun, not remotely contrived, chat with each of them. We learned about the cafes, traditional and those with “herbal” options (known in the USA as 420 friendly). We enjoyed a drink at a true brown bar/pub, a family owned, local treasure that’s hosted US Presidents seeing their glorious apple pie. We met The Flower Bike Man, Warren, creator of the whimsical, happy Flower Bikes seen all around the city (and there’s even a few in Florida). We met a second hand furniture shop owner with a store front bursting with treasures. And, Sunny, a sexworker, advocate and shift manager of a non profit brothel located in the Red Light district. What a refreshing, fun conversation! We learned about Amsterdam families, and their approach to raising independent, self assured children. We stopped to a drink in a successful, friendly, fun brewery almost entirely staffed by persons with mental disabilities. What we know about Amsterdam is it’s pragmatic and realistic approach to governing and citizenship. On the whole, the government and law enforcement are trusted members of the communities. They truly are interested in the people’s well being. I’ve never experienced anything like this in the world. It’s a culture that values collaboration over speed, people over profit. It’s quite a community that makes sure everyone is supported. We’d have missed all of this if we’d not taken our Small Group, 4 Hour Walking Tour. DO NOT miss this tour!

Best tour ever! - Best day ever! We made an intimate, authentic connection with our tour guide, and some locals. Along the way, we learned about things we would never have known otherwise, and we have absolutely fallen in love with a Amsterdam and the Netherlands. We truly learned what makes this country, so special, and wildlife is so rich from the inside out, along with anecdotes and helpful information along the way. This was such a rich, unique experience, I couldn’t recommended more highly.
