  • Vondelpark - The first part of the tour will go through our beautiful and most famous Vondelpark. We will get used to our bikes and you will learn some about Dutch history and this park.
  • Rembrandt Hoeve - Here we visit a lovely Dutch farmer at their cheese farm and clog factory. At the farm they will demonstrate the traditional art of making wooden shoes and famous Gouda cheese. Afterwards, you’ll be able to have a look around in their little gift shop and taste some free samples of authentic Dutch cheese.

We’ll also take a short brake for you to eat your packed lunch or snacks.

  • The Amstel - A fair amount of time is spent biking along the beautiful Amstel river
  • Bovenkerkerpolderpad - We’ll bike through the Dutch polder landscape with its rectilinear ditches and dikes in the area around the Bovenkerkpolder.
  • Riekermolen - Your guide will stop briefly to tell and show you one of the few remaining windmills and the nearby statue of Rembrandt. Great stop for a photo opportunity as well.

Additional Information

Escape the city’s hustle on a bike tour of parks and rural areas, commencing from Amsterdam. This tour, ranging from 3.5 to 4 hours, takes you through Vondelpark and along the Amstel River. You’ll have the chance to explore the polders and the Amsterdamse woods, learning about local history and traditional Dutch countryside life, while appreciating the beautiful greenery.

Half of the journey consists of cycling alongside the Amstel River, beyond the city limits and through the geometrically laid out drainage system of the polders. You’ll see one of the remaining traditional windmills and meet a quirky Dutch farmer at his cheese dairy and clog manufacturing unit.

The farmer will guide you through the process of crafting wooden shoes and creating renowned Gouda cheese on the farm. After the demonstration, browse through the gift area and taste the authentic Dutch cheese for free. The tour concludes with a cycling trip back to the city along the Amstel River, passing under the Rijksmuseum.

  • Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately
  • A reasonable level of fitness, health and biking skill is necessary. On the long tour you will ride E-Bikes at about 18km-20km per hour. Our guides will decide if your cycling skills are good enough (safety first).
  • Lunch is not included. Feel free to pack a lunch and bring something to snack along the route or out at the cheese farm (long tour only) because while the farmer has cheese to eat the wooden shoes are not fun to nibble on unless you are a chipmunk.

Fun bike tour with a great guide - My girlfriend and I booked this tour for our first day in Amsterdam and we had an amazing time. Our tour guide Gus was very friendly and made sure we had a great experience, despite the wet weather! Would recommend for anyone who wants to check out some of the less travelled parts of the city.

So much to see for such a leisurely ride - Simon was THE BEST! So personable and a great host. He was always looking out for everyone in the group as bicycling around Amsterdam can be tricky downtown. We saw sooo much of the city and countryside. The clog and cheese farm was the icing on top! 10/10 would recommend!

Fun 4-hr easy & informative bike tour - My wife & I knew we wanted to do a bike tour to the countryside of Amsterdam to see a windmill, a real Dutch cheese farmer & clog maker and we got everything in this tour! Stephane was a great tour guide! He kept us safe, all together, entertained, and taught us a few things along the way about the history of the Netherlands. 10/10 totally satisfied what we were looking for and would do it again.
