Great canal cruise! - Captain Ward provided commentary and history for our one-hour cruise. We took the 9:30 pm tour so it was dusk. So pretty with all the lights coming on and we could even see into some houses and houseboats. Ward did a GREAT job! Fun tour, great introduction to Amsterdam!

Experience Sightseeing Amsterdam city from her canals - We bought a combo ticket for this cruise with the Rijksmuseum , it was a better deal. We boarded the boat near the Central station and it was very crowded. All seats were filled. The cruise took 1 hour and we learnt details of many buildings highlighted during the audio commentary. It was enlightening. However being seated in the covered section, photographs taken through the glass were not as great. It was a pleasant cruise and recommended for a quick overview of Amsterdam city from her canals. Something unique that not many cities in other countries can offer.

Great value for money - Great value for money, good narration on the boat which is pre recorded, nice to sit and relax, thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a snigger at the jacket on the back of the seat… Had a couple of drinks inside the cafe and you can take them on the boat, there is a toilet inside but it is a euro to use it, they are very clean too…..

Nice hour off your feet. Very basic tour. - Good hour. History was provided by headphones. The audio was slightly out of sink. The boat was clean however for the fixed table made it slightly tight sitting. If you have I am Amsterdam card it is free and worth the time.

An easy hour viewing Amsterdam's bridges and buildings. - This was booked for us as part of our Group Tour. It was OK, I think it's maybe the standard "go to" tour for tour companies. It's a big concern, lots of boats and working to a schedule to keep them leaving and moving round. We did see a lot of Amsterdam in the hour we were on the boat and the headphones pointed out some highlights. I have to say though, that once you're half way round one bridge looks much like another and the same with canalside properties. If I was booking a boat tour myself I think I'd try one of the independant operators for something different - although I expect it would cost more, I can't say.

Save your money - Worst Experience Ever! A complete waste of money! We booked a 6:00 PM one-hour canal cruise expecting a timely and scenic experience. We arrived at 5:45 PM and waited patiently in line, only for the boat to remain docked well past the scheduled departure time. By 6:30 PM, the boat had still not moved, with no explanation, no communication, and no sense of urgency from staff. We had other plans that evening, and this delay completely derailed our schedule. After wasting 45 minutes standing around with no update, we had no choice but to leave without ever setting foot on the cruise. This kind of disorganization and lack of respect for customers’ time is unacceptable. Amsterdam has many canal tour options — do yourself a favor and choose a company that actually values punctuality and customer service.

Horrible experience on a packed boat - Do yourself a favor and pay a couple of extra euros for a better experience. The only positive thing I can say about the cruise was that the toilet on board was very clean. I would not recommend this cruise to friends or family visiting Amsterdam. The staff was not friendly, and once they take your money, they couldn’t care less about your comfort. There are plenty of other companies to choose from in Amsterdam, and I suggest you go elsewhere.

Double Disappointed - First at Dock Workers, then Customer Service - Extremely disappointed with Lovers Canal Cruises. We purchased four tickets under the assurance we’d be seated together, only to find out last minute that wasn’t the case. Despite an available boat right after, they refused to accommodate us or issue a refund. It’s ridiculous that they don’t guarantee seating together for groups—who’d want to take an hour-long cruise separated from their friends? Would not recommend.

Bad experience - My husband and I were hoping to have a romantic experience with this Amsterdam Canal Cruise. It was our first time in the city (and will be the last). We were the first in the queue to board, when the manager of the place, PRISCILA (plant of the day 12/4/25, at 1:45 PM, sent us to another boat already full, old and different from the other boats of the place. I told her it wasn't fair because the boat was full and we couldn't sit together. She was extremely rude and rude, shouting that she was the manager of the place and gave us no choice. We had to sit apart, feeling completely humiliated in front of the other people present at the venue. 35 euros thrown in the trash. What was supposed to be a special moment ended up completely ruining the experience. There are many other boats and companies nearby. Do you guys a favor, don't use this company.
