Additional Information

Your itinerary includes a visit to the enchanting rose-hued city of Petra in Jordan, a major attraction situated 240km to the south of the nation’s capital, Amman. Petra was established in roughly the 6th century B.C by the itinerant Nabataean Arabs, who not only settled here but also established a thriving trade network that reached into Syria. On your arrival, you’ll start the journey on horseback to the canyon, referred to as the Siq, followed by a trek to Petra’s most splendid monument, the Treasury. You’ll also encounter other spectacular landmarks such as the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, and Pharaoh’s Castle. Additionally, Petra holds the distinction of being one of the New 7 Wonders of the world.

Shobak Castle, otherwise referred to as the ‘royal mountain’, Montreal, or Mons Regalis in its early days, is the premier Crusader fortress in a series of castles in Oultrejourdain, the region located to the east of the Jordan River. It was commissioned in 1115 by Baldwin I, the King of Jerusalem, as a means to oversee the trade routes connecting Syria and Egypt.

Excellent service and lovely English speaking driver - The driver was brilliant and very helpful to get around the site and in the busy traffic in Amman. Highly recommended this trip 👌

Petra by Night was magical - We had just 24 hours in Jordan.. and of course wanted to try and experience the best of it in the shortest time possible. Found these guys and from the very beginning we knew we were up for a great experience. Easy and correct communication, lovable personality and deep knowledge and respect for his country shared by Mohammad Bardaghawi have made our tour to Petra a smooth and almost magical sail. Petra is a very powerful place, you can smell history and the humanity’s heartbeat everywhere. But the “Petra by Night” experience is just something else… Possibly the most enchanting experience in our lives. The way you feel walking 2km through a huge canyon, in the darkness just slightly lit by candles on the ground and a sky full of stars above, hearing nothing but your own steps, just to face the famous facade in the end is hard to express. The show itself is hypnotic if you are able to not pay attention to other visitors’ talking, ethnic music and the sheer sight is something to behold 🙌🏼

Great sites; great driver - Great tour. Ramzi was a very pleasant driver. Petra is great but everyone already knows that. Shobak Castle should also be on your to-see list. Little Petra is near big Petra and worth your time as well. Ramzi is a very nice guy. He helped make our day a pleasant one.

This is it! - My tour was simply magical. The driver was fantastic, and the sights are incredible. Little Petra is a very nice addition, but shouldn't be compared to the grandeur of Petra. If you have any doubts about going to Petra, do it! You will not regret your time.

Petra in a Day - Yuones capably navigated the busy streets of Amman and the sickeningly windy roads surrounding Petra, taking us from our hotel to both little and big Petra. The tour itself was self guided and on our own while Yuones waited patiently for us to satisfy our curiosities at each site. After 5-6 miles of hiking the trails at Petra on our own, we met him at a restaurant in town that we had wanted to try (since the sign out front advertised camel - something we had not yet tried). It was great. At every stop, people were gracious and kind. So long as you’re comfortable with vendors harassing you for money (and can find friendly ways to say NO in English or Arabic) it’s an amazing one in a lifetime experience. AND, the roads/traffic aren’t well suited for western drivers - I’d wholeheartedly recommend seeking a skilled driver like we found with Yuones.

Petra is a must see. - It was a good time. Little Petra is quite underwhelming after Petra. I am still glad I got to see both!
