Day 2 -

Amman Panorama Art Gallery - This morning, you will be driven north to Jerash, historically known as Gerasa.

This was one of the ten affluent, autonomous cities of the Decapolis during Roman times, renowned for its luxurious lifestyle.

Buried for centuries under sand, Jerash is the only city of the Decapolis to have survived significantly. It features a striking oval forum, colonnaded main streets with remarkably intact drains, two theatres, and the impressive Temple of Zeus.

After exploring, head south to the Dead Sea for a relaxing ‘float’ in the saline waters.

In the evening, return to Amman.

Day 3

Petra - Today involves a long drive down the King’s Highway, which takes you through vast ‘wadis’ (valleys).

There are several interesting stops along the way, including Madaba, known as the city of mosaics, Mt Nebo, and Kerak, a magnificent fortified town.

Continuing south, you will arrive at Petra, Jordan’s premier historic site and one of the world’s most remarkable ancient cities.

Day 4

Petra - You will have two full days to explore Petra, the ‘Rose-red city, half as old as time’.

Petra was hidden for centuries until Swiss explorer Burckhardt discovered it in 1812. It was founded by the Nabateans, an Arab tribe that settled here in the sixth century BC.

To enter Petra, you must walk down a narrow chasm, known as the Siq, flanked by high cliffs on either side.

Spend the rest of the day exploring this architectural wonder.

Day 5

Petra - Spend the entire day exploring Petra.

Day 6

Wadi Rum Protected Area - This morning, take the modern Desert Highway south to Wadi Rum, a stunning desert area where dramatic sandstone mountains rise from the sandy desert floor.

This is where Lawrence of Arabia and Prince Faisal gathered the Arab tribes for the attack on Aqaba during the First World War, and where parts of the 1962 epic film were shot.

Join your Bedouin guides for a 2-hour 4x4 tour to explore the highlights of the protected area.

Towards the end of the day, return to your private camp near the small village of Disseh, where you will enjoy traditional Bedouin hospitality and may have the opportunity to sleep under the stars.

Day 7

Aqaba Marine Park - Wake up amidst the dramatic desert scenery and then head to Aqaba, Jordan’s port and holiday resort, famous for its beautiful coral reefs.

Enjoy free time to relax on the beach, swim, or go snorkeling.

Your tour guide can recommend the best private beaches to visit, as public beaches generally have fewer facilities.

There are several excellent restaurants in Aqaba for your evening meal.

Day 8

Amman Panorama Art Gallery - In the morning, travel back to Amman via the fast Desert Highway.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of Amman, with any additional time free for exploring the city or some last-minute shopping!

Day 9

Al Balad – Downtown Amman - Check out and head to the airport for your onward journey.
