Tirta Gangga - The Tirta Gangga royal water garden is a beloved retreat located in the Karangasem regency of east Bali. Constructed in 1946 during the reign of the late raja of Karangasem, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem (1887 - 1966), the garden underwent several restorations after the 1963 Mount Agung eruption, which covered it in volcanic ash. The opulent water gardens, owned by the royal Karangasem family, span 1.2 hectares and include pools, ponds, and fountains, all surrounded by meticulously manicured lawns, stepping stones, ornate statues, and tropical gardens.
