Highlights
  • Langestraat - The main shopping street of Amersfoort. You can look here below the bridge to see the arches of the canals below. It is a city monument.
  • Mondriaanhuis - The birthplace of Mondriaan (the painter) and school building of his father. Nowadays there is the Mondriaan museum in the building.
  • Muurhuizen - Amersfoort had city walls. Nowadays they are used as living houses. Very interesting to see the old architecture of the walls still present in the houses facade.
  • Kamperbinnenpoort - Kamperbinnenpoort. The old city gate. It is one of the last remnants of this first city wall, the structure of which can still largely be seen in the Muurhuizen, to which the gate is attached.
  • Hof 1 - The Sint-Joriskerk is a three-aisled hall church in Amersfoort, located on the Hof. The church is used by the Reformed District Municipality of Sint Joriskerk of the Protestant Municipality of Amersfoort.
  • Hof - A nice square with many bars and restaurants. Also an old well.
  • Museum Flehite - Beautiful building that is also a museum of modern art and cultural history.
  • Koppelpoort - The Koppelpoort is a city gate in Amersfoort. It is a combination of a land and water gate. The Koppelpoort could be closed by means of a double treadmill. This is still functioning.
  • Stadhuis Amersfoort - City hall of Amersfoort. A square with lot of art and a few references to Mondriaan can be found here
  • Onze-Lieve-Vrouwetoren - The Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren is a church tower in Amersfoort. The late Gothic building is 98.33 meters high and rises high above the city center. This makes it one of the most eye-catching monuments in the city and is the third highest church tower in the Netherlands. The tower is nicknamed “Lange Jan”.

recommended - It was a very nice escape, but sometimes it was difficult to figure out what the intention was. But you can do it by reading and watching carefully. A nice way to visit the city.

Detectives in an exciting treasure hunt - We saw a lot of the city and learned a lot of interesting information along the way. And at the same time completed many challenging assignments. Sometimes we were able to move on quickly and sometimes we really had to do some puzzling. The theme of this tour really makes you feel like a bit of a detective. All in all, a very successful afternoon.

Nice outing for a low rate - Very fun to do. You see the city and the assignments are original and fun to do. You can choose between difficult and easy, so also fun for families with children. And that for a low rate :)

Pleasant way to explore Amersfoort - Pleasant way to explore Amersfoort. Fun facts, and the distances were doable. It was also nice to see how differently we as a group solved the riddles. In short: Highly recommended!

Amersfoort recommended! - It was a very nice experience. Without Outside Escape we wouldn't have gone to Amersfoort, but we're glad we went! Amersfoort has a lot of nice places and a lot of history to offer. The escape was easy and had a good balance between history and challenge. Highly recommended!

Very nice experience! We plan to do another route soon. - We played this escape game with the family. Our children are 11 and 9 years old, and they were able to solve the assignments themselves with some help. In addition, we had 1 wheelchair, the route was easily accessible with the wheelchair. ♿️

Perfect way to discover Amersfoort! - We had both never been to the center of Amersfoort. The tour was a fun way to discover the city. The puzzles were challenging but achievable, which made it fun :)

Beautiful walk with challenging assignments through the beautiful city center of Amersfoort - We did this escape city game with a bunch of friends and it was a lot of fun. We chose the difficult option, and that made the challenge of solving the assignments even greater. But more importantly, we had a lot of fun and saw a lot of the beautiful city center of Amersfoort. There were plenty of opportunities for a coffee stop along the way, and we ended up having a delicious lunch (and chatting about the ranking that was somewhere at the bottom 😉) All in all, a successful activity that is certainly fun to undertake!

Too easy - I have already done a number of escapes with great pleasure. In March also the one in Amersfoort with a friend. Unfortunately, the basic game turned out to be too easy for us, which made us slightly disappointed. So choose the difficult option next time. A nice route through the city.
