Meeting of Waters - Description

Beginning of the journey to the Meeting of the Waters , where we will observe the Rio Negro and Solimões that together form the Amazon River. Next we will visit the January Lake, where we will see the floating houses located on a inundated area because of the the flood period of the river.

After that we will visit a fair of local crafts, and ride with canoes into the lake Igapós where we can see some wild animals like monkeys, sloths, anaconda, a variety of birds and water lilies. Then we will start to fish for piranhas and other species, later we will go back to the boat to observe the sunset and to get ready to the night tour.

During the night tour we will be helping capture alligators using flashlights sending bright light into their eyes. After capturing the guide will make some explanations and then the animal will be returned to its natural habitat.

I couldn't have wished for more. - The trip was excellent, and I couldn't wish for a better guide than our guide Lucio Torres. What I appreciated the most was that he made it very clear that interacting with the wild animals in the Tuyuka-village would and should not be tolerated. There was also a sign on the boat making it clear that the practice of keeping wild sloths, parrots, reptiles and other wildlife for the entertainment of visitors is a cruel practice. The sign also included the phone number to a hotline one could call to report such incidents. It is wonderful to see that there are companies that act in such an ethical fashion, as that has not been my experience on earlier trips. So, in conclusion; the trip was excellent, we saw all the animals promised in the brochure, and the meeting of the waters was spectacular! I felt super-well cared for, and when something was explained in Portuguese, our guide sat next to me and translated it all to English. The boat was very comfortable, and there were several of us with mobility-issues; we received assistance from the Staff every time they thought we might need it. The trip comes highly recommended, and gets 6 of 6 from me.

Best service in Amazonas - The service was amazing. Completely recommended :) The tour is in charge to the lunch, transport from your hotel to the port, the Meeting of the waters, then lunch, visit to the swim with the "pink dolphins", visit to the tribu, amazings landscape from the Amazonas, the Manaus city. If you have just one day, this is the best option to know a lot of things in short time.

Great 5 day Amazon experience - Went on the 5 day/4 night boat trip from Manaus with a friend and we had a great time. Our guide was friendly and very informative about both the Amazon and the history of Manaus. He also helped us by communicating with the boat crew who were not English speaking. The boat crew were very accommodating and worked hard to ensure we had a good time. It was a great authentic experience overall and one we won't forget!

A Day on the Amazon - Very good tour, very good guide The stop in the forest and the walk on the river were very pleasant On the other hand we did not appreciate at all the tourist village : animals are exposed all day long to take selfies with all the visitors, their state is hard to see I am also afraid that the people who animate the village are underpaid Everything seems fake We would have done without it
