Best Horseback Riding + Tequila Tasting Tour! - It was my first time visiting Guadalajara and this private tour was perfect from start to finish! :) I almost didn’t book since it didn’t have many reviews - but after reading positive reviews for the tour company, I gave it a shot! I’ve been on countless tours before and love to travel. This was one of the best tours I’ve ever done. To start the day, my husband and I were picked up from our hotel in Centro Historico at 9am. Our friendly guide was Delfino; he kept us entertained during the hour drive with interesting info about Guadalajara and Tequila. It was just the 3 of us in a clean, safe car with strong AC, which helped since it was a hot day! He offered us free water bottles throughout the day which was helpful since we were pretty drunk from all of the tequila… Our first stop was to do tequila tasting at Don David in Amititan. We went to an absolutely gorgeous spot with a scenic view overlooking the glorious agave fields. At the private tasting, we learned how to truly savor tequila with an expert and then explored the agave fields with Delfino to learn more about them. Our second stop was to meet the father and son who were waiting with our horses in Amititan for our horseback riding tour. This was an absolutely magical experience: the sun was shining, the agave fields we passed by were stunning, the father and son were patient with us (since we were a bit tipsy from tequila!), and there were 3 cute small dogs that followed the horses the entire time. After the 45-minute horseback ride, our guide drove us to Tequila. We stopped by the Jose Cuervo distillery to use their bathroom and then walked around Tequila. We explored a church, checked out outdoor stalls selling trinkets and souvenirs, wandered through the town square, stopped by the Casa Sauza distillery, and ate tequila and agave ice cream at a local shop. (The ice cream and tastings at both distilleries were not included with the tour - but you can purchase them separately!) Afterwards, it was time for lunch and we drove to nearby La Taberna, an underground restaurant. Lunch came with chips, salsa, and delicious margaritas. My husband and I got beef tacos and chicken fajitas, and dessert of arroz con leche (rice pudding with fruit). The food was decent - not the best nor worst Mexican food we’ve had! We passed by “barrel hotels” on the way to lunch and got to see one up close. Then we had a tequila tasting at Cofradia followed by a tour of the factory to see how it’s produced. We got more tequila tastings during the tour. It took us over an hour to drive back to our hotel for our drop off - but we had such an incredible day that we didn’t mind. Overall, I highly recommend the tour and our guide! It was a fun adventure and not having to think about transportation, food, and drinks was great. It was also nice that our experience was customized. Our guide adapted to our needs hour by hour and let us decide where we wanted to spend more/less time at.

The Best Agave and Tequila (tasting) tour - Hearing the explanation from the tour guide about the agave plant, origin of extraction history, and the tequila tasting. Walking through Jose Cuervo ave in Tequila town. Getting tour of the factory, and tasting the 100% non-distilled tequila.

What an amazing experience! - Would do this adventure again in a heartbeat. The staff were absolutely wonderful. We actually stayed in Tequila, so they adjusted our experience for pick up here. But everyone we encountered was so welcoming and kind. Plus the food was outstanding, and the tasting was unique and fun. That doesn't even include the amazing views. Truly a must do (again and again and again).

Amazing! - While looking for something to do in Guadalajara we stumbled upon this activity that had NO reviews, we went ahead and took the chance and booked the tour. All I can say is WOW! It was truly an experience and I would do again with them without a doubt. We were their priority and our driver even stopped at a Starbucks because we hadn’t had breakfast. The horse ride to the distillery was the perfect length, and as a first time horse rider the help that was offered was amazing. Plenty of tasty tequila and knowledgeable staff. The meal provided was amazing and we were even given free roaming time in tequila. 10/10 recommend this activity! We will be back!
