Best theme park in the UK and one of the best in Europe - I just can’t get enough of this park! It’s beautiful and the height limit gave it some charm. Wickerman and Th13teen are great family coasters, I would suggest both in the back row.
Nemesis Reborn and Oblivion are great black out intensity rides with the intensity being to much at times! The Smiler and Spinball Whizzer are great disorienting rides with the smiler having the most inversions on any coaster! Rita and Galactica are great dirt rides (lol) with good ellements! I would even live in this park thats how good it is!

Okay..... But won't be back soon - Queue queue queue spend spend spend. Expect average 50min-1hr queuing per ride. Gets extremely tedious over the day. Managed 7 rides which felt quite successful but spent the day in queues. £14.50 for a hotdog and £12 parking was hard to stomach. Thorpe Park is a lot better to be honest with overall better rides and less queues. Alton towers very scenic and LOTS of walking

Alton towers Christmas……. Are you kidding?!? - I’m sorry but what a complete rip off!! The price is higher than ever but yet there’s about 5 rides open! I know it’s selected rides but come on Alton towers …what a joke!! Hex? Alton Manor? Indoor rides…no reason why these can’t be open. World of David Walliams? Family area should be open!
No light trails? No markets? Yes ok they put on a nice show new for this year and the reindeer games is a clear and obvious attempt to fill some time for the paying customer but overall it’s a pathetic showing for such a huge price!
Hotel side was good, decent food, ok entertainment, panto was good but overall a family of 4 was just shy of £400 and it’s just not worth it. You’re effectively paying £400 for dinner, breakfast, a bed and a couple of local singers.
HUGE improvement and customer consideration needed!!!!
Poor.

Awful day out Member day. - Worst visit we have ever experienced at Alton towers absolutely woeful. Half the park was closed. Many rides that were not even mentioned were closed. Only open 10-4 left at 2 as each “big” ride had over 1 hour wait. How is that a member day? It’s disgusting how all of us was just used into thinking we was going to have a great day out and it was one of the worst. Oversold tickets even trying to flog them up until the day before on blue light. One word GREED. The only single positive about this day was the weather everything else abysmal. The rapids were also closed but they decided to turn the music on and fill it up with water at 1pm , are you all actually okay? Why would you do this at 1pm, as it obviously took forever for the rapids to fill up with water. Emailed to ask for a refund but won’t hold my breath as they will offer a dismounted ticket price to go back to their hellhole.

Waste of time and money - I bought 3 tickets for the Blue Light Members Day (Saturday 8th March) on the back of the advert promising smaller crowds, shorter queues and discount on food/drinks.
Coming from North Tyneside we stayed in a hotel nearby and obviously paid a bit for fuel - spending near to £200 for the trip.
Upon arrival it took 30 mins to get parked, and once we were in (after the 20 minute walk from the car park) the place was absolutely rammed. So much for the smaller crowds.
The park was only open until 4pm, so by the time we got in we had around 5 hours of ride time. The first thing I did was ask for a map so we could see where we wanted to go, only to be told they don't do them out of season and to use the map on the app. Easier said than done with poor network coverage.
Anyway, we managed to make our way to Wickerman which had a 50 minute queue!! So much for the shorter queues as promised on the advert. By the time we finished there we fancied a go on Nemesis Reborn. We attempted to follow the map on the app only to find lots of pathways closed off, we later found out that the section with Nemesis etc in were closed. Absolutely no mention of that prior to booking/arrival.
It was past 1pm before we managed to get on to our second ride after queuing for ages again.
We tried to ride on Pinball Whizzer, only for it to close 30 minutes into queuing.
We headed to Oblivion which remarkably we managed to get on after a 10 min wait.
All other queues were upwards of 60 mins excepted Pinball Whizzer which had reopened and was only 40 mins wait (still ridiculous). However another 30 mins into queuing and again it conked out.
It was now 3.20 and we had managed 3 rides all day, by that time we had had enough and cut our losses rather than end up in another 40+ minute queue to get out the car park.
£200 well and truly down the toilet.
If that's a Blue Light Members only day with shorter queues and less crowds then I'd hate to visit any other time.

Bad birthday treat - Really bad experience.
Booked a day at the park and couldn’t get in as it wouldn’t accept a QR codes we were emailed, eventually they resolved this.
Got in to find multiple rides shut down.
Stayed at the onsite hotel and shared a hallway with an entire school, the kids we making noise all afternoon/evening which made it impossible to put a 2year old to bed.
We struggled to get a table in the restaurant and had to pay to have a 2year sit and have a few chips as we weren’t aloud to share off our plate at an all you can eat.
We booked a morning at the swimming pool and couldn’t get in because the entire school was in the pool and it was too packed.
We made a complaint and it was agreed we would get a free hotel stay and complementary park tickets.
We booked this up only to be told we now have to pay and the offer doesn’t stand.
We even forwarded the email confirmation only to be told we still have to pay.
After a 6hour drive it didn’t feel worth it. Next time I will be going to Thorpe park.

Misleading ticket info - Unclear ticket information lead to massive disappointment. The magical day out pass "including cbeebies land." Does not contain anything else IT IS ONLY CBEEBIES LAND
The word "including" is misleading so turning up with an excited 11 year old to be told nothing else is open is pretty devastating. Nowhere did it say the big rides were not open during our booking process.
Tickets were refunded without much trouble. But I feel like I should be in a local newspaper with compoface. Seriously not impressed. I am now massively out of pocket trying to make it up to a very upset daughter. Not to mention the 4 hour each way wasted drive.

Awful. So much worse than you think it can be. - No one here was having a good time. Rides constantly closing with no warning, after people had queued for 1-2 hours. The queue for customer service was long and angry. A scared child got stuck in his seat for ages on a closing ride with alarms going off all around and the staff were laughing and joking about it instead of trying to help. Their training must be non-existent. All the staff seemed very young and clueless.
I would pay good money to not have to go there again.
Chessington is a zillion times better.

Over priced theme park, long waits for each ride, over priced food and drink. - Over priced admissions for the privilege of standing in long lines all day. Each of the big rides had wait times of over a hour. Of course I could pay out even more money to jump the line and get on quicker but surely all guests are important? Alton towers quite happy to take the money for abysmal wait times, dirty toilets and over priced food.
Or you pay even more to jump the lines. Why not treat all the customers as being important and admit less people, cutting the terrible wait lines for each ride.
Far better theme parks, where you actually manage to get on ride’s quickly such as paultons park and light water valley.

Disappointing day out - Worst day out ever, the ques were ridiculous 90 minutes plus waiting only managed 2 of the big rides in 9 hours, most of the big rides were shut or broken, the only way is to buy a fast track ticket but that means for a family nearly £200 more & you have to pay to leave the car park.qued for 90 minutes & it broke down.very disappointed day.waist of money
