A Rollercoaster of Emotions

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for the next great adventure that will leave my kids wide-eyed and giggling. So, when I heard about the Alton Towers Resort in Alton, I knew it was time to pack our bags and head across the pond. With over 50 rides and attractions, including seven world-first rollercoasters, it promised to be a thrilling escape for the whole family.

Our journey began with a stay at the resort hotel, which was a delightful experience in itself. The kids were thrilled to discover that hotel guests get early access to some of the newer rides. This meant we could hop on the legendary Nemesis rollercoaster before the crowds descended. I must admit, the G-forces on Nemesis were intense, and I found myself screaming with delight alongside my kids. It was the perfect way to kick off our adventure.

A Magical Day at CBeebies Land

After a morning filled with adrenaline-pumping rides, we decided to take a breather and explore CBeebies Land. As a former elementary school teacher, I was particularly excited to see how the park catered to younger guests. CBeebies Land did not disappoint. The vibrant colors, friendly characters, and interactive attractions made it a haven for little ones.

We joined Phoebe, Funella, Furgus, Elmo, and Cookie Monster at The Furchester Hotel Live Show, and my kids were absolutely enchanted. It was heartwarming to see them so engaged and entertained. We also took a spin on the Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom ride, which was a hit with my little adventurers. CBeebies Land was a perfect blend of fun and learning, and it gave us a chance to relax and enjoy some quality family time.

Unforgettable Memories

As the sun began to set, we decided to try our hand at the mini-golf course. While the course was a bit dated, it was a fun way to wind down after a day of excitement. We laughed, we cheered, and we made memories that will last a lifetime.

Our second day at Alton Towers was just as magical as the first. We rode the iconic Wicker Man, a wooden rollercoaster that combines wood and fire in a truly unique experience. The thrill of racing through the towering Wicker Man structure was exhilarating, and it quickly became a family favorite.

Before we knew it, our time at Alton Towers had come to an end. As we made our way back to the hotel, I couldn’t help but reflect on the magical experience we had. From the heart-pounding rollercoasters to the enchanting CBeebies Land, Alton Towers truly lived up to its reputation as Britain’s Greatest Escape. It was a trip filled with laughter, adventure, and unforgettable family moments.
