In bygone times, the communities of Papua New Guinea were separated by formidable mountains, thick forests, and over 600 islands, leading to a multitude of languages. Conflicts and skirmishes were common, and the fallen enemies were often eaten. Witness the stone circle where village elders once convened to decide the distribution of human remains. Before departing, you’ll savor a traditional meal consisting of taro, yam, banana, and other fruits, complemented by fresh young coconut juice.\nThen, continue on a one-hour drive to the easternmost point of mainland PNG to explore the Skull Caves, sites of numerous violent acts.
