The Charyn canyon has been described as the Grand Canyon’s junior brother.The Canyon itself is approximately 154 km long. 300 meters deep.One area of particular interest, is an area of 2km called the Valley of Castles, due to the pillars and rock formations. You will have opportunity to go down the stairs and see this unique place. You can touch to the rocks, take photos, feel nature of desert, made video, research rocks, plants, insects. You will go for a walk 2 km one way. It is easy to go down to the river where you will have a rest. If you hungry you may go to cafe and book food there or take lunch box when go the trip.

The Charyn Canyon is often likened to a smaller version of the Grand Canyon. Spanning an impressive length of 154 km and plunging to depths of 300 meters, this Canyon is a sight to behold. A key attraction in this Canyon is a 2km stretch known as the Valley of Castles, named for its towering pillars and unique rock formations. Visitors are allowed to go down steep stairs to get a closer look at this fascinating spot. Immersing oneself in the desert ambiance, visitors are allowed to touch the rocks, take photos and videos, and explore the local flora, fauna and insect life. The trail covers a distance of 2km one way and features a descent to a riverside rest spot. For those feeling famished, a cafe is situated nearby for food or lunch boxes can be organized for trips. If the return walk to the bus parking is too exhausting, ecological taxis can be booked. Also worth noting is the Kok pek gorge located in the Almaty region, famed for its multi-colored mountains that resemble those found in American Texas.
