Highlights
  • Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, 49 - This tour is dedicated to the search for dolphins. Thanks to the presence on board of the scientist of MareTerra NGO, our chance of spotting dolphins is 80%, a very high probability for such elusive animals.

During the navigation, we’ll satisfy all your curiosities about the biology and behaviour of dolphins, along with their conservation status. Once we sighted a group of dolphins, we get closer in accord with the International Code of Conduct we adopt to minimise the risk of any disturbance to dolphins and other wildlife.
We will also be able to let you listen to the dolphin sounds recorded by the scientists of MareTerra NGO on board.
Thanks to the photo-identification technique, we can recognise dolphins by their dorsal fins and we are able to tell you their names, how old they are and their health status.
During the navigation, you will admire one of the most beautiful coasts of Sardinia and the crystalline waters of the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia - Isola Piana. After all these emotions, discover the magnificent underwater world and its inhabitants. Do not have much experience with snorkelling? Our guides will accompany you and will give you guidance in the water. In this way, you can enjoy your safe snorkelling experience.

Our excursions are inspired by the principles of ecotourism and sustainability:

  • Latest generation boat engines reduce fuel consumption and reduce the emission of noise underwater.
  • HQWW certification (High Quality Whale Watching) for whale watching operators complying with the Code of Good Conduct. This serves to reduce and minimize the disturbance of cetaceans.
  • Environmental education on board.
  • By joining Progetto Natura, you can support MareTerra NGO and its scientific research and conservation projects.
  • In case of no sighting of the dolphins, no refund will be provided. If it is not possible to snorkel for safety reasons, the excursion will continue looking for dolphins with the cost of the ticket unchanged.
  • Good sea conditions are required for this experience. In case of cancellation due to bad sea conditions, a mechanical issue or the minimum number of people missing, you can choose another date if available or a full refund. Other conditions that could occasionally lead to the cancellation are mechanical breakdowns or personnel health problems and requests for monitoring intervention for protecting cetaceans that cannot be postponed and are in conflict with the tour’s date.
  • The guides reserve the right to end the excursion early if it is not possible to guarantee the safety of the people on board or to respect the established program due to weather and sea conditions. The cost of the ticket could be reduced in case of early termination of the excursion.
  • Suggested equipment: water, beach towel, swimsuit, sun cream, sunglasses, sunhat.
  • The tour is suitable for kids from 5 years of age.
  • No toilet on board.
  • In case of pathology that can put your health at risk when in the water (for example asthma or angina pectoris), we ask the courtesy to be advised at the time of booking.

Dolphin spotting and snorkeling near Alghero. - Amazing day, learned a lot and really support this to go on! Recommended, definetly worth it! At first we arrived in Alghero. Parking spot was easy to find. Then we all gathered and were led to the boats. Fransesco was out guide along with 3 girls. At first we got a lot of information about the dolphins, which was really amazing to see. They do research while these tours which is the best for the animals and everything they do (they tell you all about it) is in the best interest of the animals. Really proud of that. Then after the information, you could also read a little about what they told, but reading on sea is kind of a challenge. If you cant read in a car, dont try it on the boat, you might get sick. Unfortunately a little boy on our boat couldnt handle it all to well and also got sick and puked. If you might be afraid of that, bring a bag yourself, unfortunately non on board. Also not really their kind of problem and they were really sweet for the boy when it happened so it was no biggie at all. We also got some information about pieces of land and we went to a snorkeling spot. There the showed us a few different fishes and some tips on how to lure some fishes. You have to keep together to see everything and for your own safety but be aware of everyone around you, or you might swim against one another. Back on the boat, we got more information about the fish we saw and went back to Alghero. Unfotunately we didnt see any dolphins but it was still worth it. We learned so much and i would do it again just to support them and then maybe see some dolphins. They are doing a really good job and its all so friendly for the dolphins, its amazing. I wish i could donate to them for their good work. Defenitly worth it and recommended.

Unique - It was an absolutely unique result with many plus points. First of all, everything went as planned - at the agreed time, a member of staff picked them up and brought them to the boat. The whole crew was very friendly and personable. The trip was also very educational, as you learn a lot about dolphins. The crew is very well educated, so the probability of seeing dolphins is very high. Once you have found some, the crew does everything they can to respect the environment and the animals. Then you go to a beautiful bay to go snorkeling. Here, individual crew members come along to show you the way in the water. You get great diving equipment, diving goggles, snorkel and flippers. You see lots of fish and learn a lot about them. All in all, a really great trip and it is definitely worth the money, as the crew uses it to finance further research for the benefit of the dolphins.

A blind trip without illusions. - Before the trip, you shouldn't be too excited to see a dolphin and pay only for the boat ride... But the guides tried to comfort us during the boat ride, and kept looking for some dolphin in the sea. I have to admit, they tried.
