Great tour ending with a Slip n Fall out of the van - Walking the George Washington (GW) home and the grounds was very nice. The Potomac River view from backside of home was spectacular. Such a beautiful place. The GW guides were knowledgable. I recommend this tour. Regarding the second van that picked us up from GW tour, it had very, very slippery plastic floor mats. Which was noticed when we entered the van. And commented about it. Then, when stepping out to exit van when we returned we reminded each other to be carful as it was very slippery. When I attempted to exit the van, I started to place one foot on the van stepping rail while my other foot was on the van floor (slippery) mat. The foot on mat slipped out from under me and I don’t think my other foot had even touched the side stepping rail m. This resulted in me falling down onto the steps coming out of the van.

Mount Vernon is one of my... - Mount Vernon is one of my favorite DC area places to visit. The history here is so meaningful and the place is simply beautiful. I wish we had been aware that it was undergoing renovations and that we would not get a full tour of the mansion.

More history less wokeness - Seems to be an emphasis on woke issues and less about the values and sacrifices of the Founding Father's of America. Grounds somewhat difficult for mobility challenged.

For the price, it would have been nice to spend more time in Old Town/Alexandra. - The driver was knowledgeable and nice. The vehicle’s AC could not keep up with the excessive heat that day. Unfortunately, most of the mansion was under refurbishment and we could not see it. One nice feature that is not typical was the view of the cellar.

Beautiful property and grounds but under major construction - At this time, much of the home is under renovation. We were only able to see 2 completed rooms which made the high price for this tour seem overpriced. We also did not care for our driver. His constant press the gas and let off was nauseating in the back of the bus and the microphone also did not work. Rather than telling us more historical information, he filled the time with Dad jokes. Finally, after leaving Mount Vernon, he drove way too fast, hit a large bump in the road and we literally went air borne in our seats which hurt my back. We also did the evening tour of the monuments with Frank Lee and he was better with telling us about the monuments and stopping for us to take pictures.

Don’t go!! - They should know that the house is in the process of reconstruction and the whole tour took 10 minutes! Building works everywhere and you can’t even see the front of the house to take a photo. Incredibly disappointed and especially when it cost my sister and I £150!!! Complete rip-off. Don’t go until the house is ready.

We got to only see two... - We got to only see two rooms as it is under renovations until sometime in 2026. This needs to be made known. We would have gone to do something else had we known.

While its being remodeled its Not worth visiting - This was my second time visiting and my girlfriend first time visiting. George Washington home, I didn't know it was being redone only got to see one room of the house. If I knew the house was being remodeled I would have not book the $200 trip. They didn't tell us it was being remodeled until we got on the bus. I feel cheated out of the trip and rush, my girlfriend didn't get to experience the George Washington home like I did the first time.
